Helmet keeps being removed at workbench?

Whenever I use a workbench, smithing for example, my helmet is being removed until I leave said workbench again. It only started doing that yesterday. Before that, everything was fine. Any ideas? The only option in the settings related to helmet removal I could find hasn't been changed, and I'm not using those "hide helmet" things either...

Are you sure that before yesterday, everything was fine?

I think the crafting animation has always removed the helmet. Servers down, so can't check right now.

Absolutely. I started playing last friday and have been quite addicted ever since. ^^ It's just kind of disturbing the flow when my helmet keeps popping out of existence for no reason whenever I use a workbench, which is alot. 100% certain that wasn't the case from friday till sunday.

Could be related to the type of helmet? Up until yesterday, I've been playing a healer in light armor. Now I'm a tank in heavy armor... Maybe it does remove the helmet, but not a hood? Will have to check once the servers are up again.

other people don't see your helmet get removed, in fact they don't even see the animation of you using the crafting stations... to them it just looks like you're normal standing there not doing anything

Sure, but it's bugging me... Not others. ;o Whatever it is and for whatever reason... it changed yesterday.

If it's some sort of immersion for the game, it would make sense. A big clunky helmet would be in the way of crafting something properly, while a normal hood wouldn't.

My helmet get's removed as well

It's happened to me as well on one character, but not another, and I think the difference was that the other character was wearing a hood.

Wouldn't be very professional to try and hammer and use sharp objects to craft weapons and armour while wearing a big massive armoured helmet, would it? How would you see what you're hammering? A craftsman wouldn't even think of wearing a helmet
