Thanks Again...May your Crown Crates be Legendary!
Well sometimes they tell you to take a boat or cart, in the case of Auridon there will be a captain waiting for you at the end. But generally speaking this is how it works.
But as Danny mentioned you can take a boat or a caravan or as for a taxi in chat if you want to go somewhere else.
Khenarthi's Roost, Auridon, Grahtwood, Greenshade, Malabal Tor, Reaper's March, Bleakrock Isle, Bal Foyen, Stonefalls, Deshaan, Shadowfen, Eastmarch, the Rift, Stros M'Kai, Betnikh, Glenumbra, Stormhaven, Rivenspire, Alik'r Desert, Bangkorai, Coldharbour, Craglorn, Cyrodiil, Vvardenfell, Blackwood
You unlock these zones (except for the last four) by playing the alliance storyline. That storyline begins at the "prologue" zone which is different depending on your alliance (you'll get access to all as you play, don't worry), I marked these with italics. You're supposed to get to your alliance's "prologue" zone by completing the Soul Shriven in Coldharbour quest, which is the first in the main story line.
The main, alliance, mages guild and fighters guild stories lore-wise happen at the same time, so it makes sense to work on them at once while doing zone quests, as sarena77 said.
Craglorn storyline is unrelated to any other, you can complete it whenever you want, just keep in mind this is a veteran zone and enemies and activities are tougher than usual.
Cyrodiil is the pvp zone, you can't travel to it like any other place. After you reach level 10 press the "L" button or open the Alliance War in the menu (its icon looks like a tower). Select the campaign that suits you most and use the Enter Campaign option, and you'll load into the zone shortly. You can leave Cyrodiil by using one of the two wayshrines in your alliance's main bases.
Vvardenfell is the Morrowind chapter zone, it's a part of the base game now. Story-wise its events happen after the alliance storyline, and there's at least one character you'll meet there which you're supposed to meet first in the alliance story. If you quest out of order, that character will think you meet for the first time in Vvardenfell, and then later they'll think you meet for the first time in the alliance story.
Also you can pick up the Imperial City free DLC from the Crown Store, it adds a couple of group dungeons, a short story and a new area to Cyrodiil, you load into it separately from the Alliance War menu.
I'd just like to clarify that you need don't unlock those other zones by playing through the storyline. You have access to those zones by default, even if you cannot directly port to a wayshrine because you haven't discovered it.
However, typically the last story quest in the zone will tell you to proceed to the next zone which is nearby, making it easier for you to navigate there. Usually it's a simple matter of walking and crossing a door to the next zone, or talking to an NPC to take a boat or caravan.
