What do I need to buy to unlock the full game?
I bought "ESO: Tamriel Unlocked Imperial Edition" or whatever it's called many years ago and only played for a little bit but haven't played at all since. If I want Morrowind, Skyrim, Cyrodiil, etc, what do I need to buy to unlock those areas? The store page is a mess and doesn't really tell me what I need to just enjoy the game in its entirety.

This grants you 3 months of access to all the DLCs sans the latest Chapter (Blackwood), and a total of 4950 Crowns, which is enough to unlock 1 Chapter DLC. If your ESO+ lapses after this, you only retain access to that Chapter which you just bought.

The collection is ~$55, and includes the base game, plus all previously released Chapters, and Blackwood as well. Your access to these Chapters will not lapse. However, you do not gain any access to the other DLCs like Orsinium, Clockwork City, etc. You should have enough playtime from these Chapters however, till you can budget for ESO+ or a crown sale.
gotcha, that makes sense, thank you. If I have ESO already, will I be able to buy blackwood as well and have it apply to my existing account?

If you've linked Steam to your Elder Scrolls account, it should link. However, I'm not an expert of the matter, so don't take my word for it.

Although I've seen people who own the Steam version of ESO, be able to migrate to the retail version with linked accounts, so there's that.

If your ESO is the Steam version, and you're buying the Collection on Steam, there shouldn't be much to worry about.

There are chapters and DLC.
Everything (every chapters + every DLC ) minus Blackwood = ESO +
Every chapter minus DLC = The Elder Scrolls Online - Blackwood (Includes The Elder Scrolls Online base game, Blackwood, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset, and Morrowind Chapters.)

If you want to buy the DLC alone, you will need to buy them with crowns.

If you want to have a better idea. I use this map.

If you are looking to play the game in an order well there is no true order to the DLC's The story to this game is spread out and they all tie in but not in a way as you would think ... And there are many many sub story's to the DLC's . I belive there are guides to the many side quests and Funny side stops to check out.

Thanks. This is still confusing lol. I only see 3 DLCs on the store page. Does Blackwood give me access to the entire map? Am I able to upgrade my purchase of ESO to that edition?

The Blackwood bundle has this description ^
It doesn't mention Cyrodiil for example. Is that already included in the base game now?

I came here looking for the answer to this specific question.
Some of the reviews on the Blackwood store page claim that you don't, in fact, get access to the rest of the chapters when buying it.

As for Cyrodiil from what I can tell from various guides and reviews on youtube, it is a part of the main game itself, the main pvp area of the game.

Ah. Years ago they released the Imperial City (and I think Cyrodiil) as a separate DLC, and now I don't see any mention of it. I assume it's been added to the base game. So confusing haha. I just want to make sure that I buy the right thing for the full experience. Maybe I can get someone from Bethesda's support to give a definitive answer.

cyrodil was from long time part of the base game, imperial city came later as dlc and now is free for all and can be acquired from crown store in-game.

you still have time to jump in and see if you like the game, before investing more money with what you have, on this free play it will be base game + morrowind, you can link your old account when starting the game, or if your copy is before steam you can download it even through official site and play it through its launcher...

it is common when seeing update to think it should include all previous when you already have first part, and here update means only last chapter not everything before it.
people commented for getting not version they thought usually after contacting eso support get refund to purchase the actual version with previous chapters.

Pay attention to what your buying. There's different editions. Those who are posting the misinformation are crying about the Blackwood Upgrade which gives only Blackwood

Might be best if I just avoid reinstalling and buying the expansions or DLC or crowns or whatever editions needed to actually get the full experience then. I don’t want to shell out a bunch of money and possibly still not get everything. They need to do a better job advertising what you actually get with the different editions, or just come out with a complete collection edition that definitely has everything. I can’t follow this ♥♥♥♥ lol.

I just want to explore all of Tamriel in its glory mannnnn… Been a long time fan of the series since Daggerfall. Would be cool to see what it looks like in ESO and all that, and the other regions not covered in previous games.

Blackwood gives access to Blackwood.
For the entire map I think you only need the base game, take an eso+ for 3 months and buy blackwood upgrade. With the crowns you get with ESO+ you can buy the dlc to keep them after you revoke your subscription.
I see the old chapters like Eslweyr and Vvarfendel are now buyable with crowns in game.
