An ESO SEA server would suffer from low player population making some content near impossible, also an ESO SEA server is probably not financially viable.

This.

A lot if not maybe all people in SEA like hard-core grindy MMOs where if you fail on something you lose 100s of hours of gaming progress. Hence why all Asian mmos are hated by the west but loved by the east.

So if there was a SEA only server you would prob only get like 50 people if that. They are all playing grindy games like black desert.

Edit: Just incase someone says not true at all.... like it always happens when someone posts anything there's always someone like "Naaa not true" just go look at all the top MMOs in SEA they are all super hard grindfest mmos.

Like the game is not grindy enough lmao, ESO kinda grindy to me, or probably i'm just getting older lol

Well, the dev said that the population of Oceania players is fairly low that it's not worth invest too, yeah not only SEA but the whole Asia-Pacific.
Man, I really want to play this game at least at 150 ping be it the server, or an improve network or netcode, whatever don't know what it is, not engineer guy

The only grind in this game for me is champion points?

I can get from level 1-50 in less than a day and to 160 champ points in another day or 2.

Then when at 160 it takes roughly another day or 2 to get the sets you want. Theres like barley aby grind in this game lol

I've played over 500 hours of black desert now THAT game is a grind....

In black desert you have to work your ass off for atleast 8 hours a day everyday for 2 weeks just to upgrade 1 pice of equipment and you then have a 80% chance that the upgrade fails and you then lose the upgrade and have to then spend another 2 weeks grinding all over again just to have a chance of upgrading. Whats worse is if you fail you go backwards in progression which is even worse.

Theres people on black desert forums ho have spent over 10,000 real life money on just upgrading their gear and they still not fully upgraded.

So trust me... this game is nowhere near a grind lol

Also the population of the EU servers are amazing im surprised there's still so many players playing after all this time. Finding a dungeon usually only takes a few minutes whenever I que up.

People in the U.S. are completely spoiled - the main problem with Pacific/Oceanic is that almost ALL of their global internet access is routed through a primary hub in Hong Kong along with Australia and Seoul (i think) and all of China.

Primary internet access is slow in that area - for example, in the U.S., about 300 miles (~500 km) from NY Hub - my primary internet access Ping is about 20 ms (or lower). And my ESO server Ping is about 100 ms. I expect O.P. primary internet access Ping to be ~200ms.

With the changes going on in HK, one can hope some other country in the area will pay for a new trans-ocean connection (through either Indian or Pacific oceans), but there is always the question of who pays and who gets to use, and then there's major changes to existing infrastructure (in Australia - for example - most of their infrastructure routes through Sydney - which then routes to HK)

Until an infrastructure improvement is made, there is no "closer location" where ESO could even consider connecting a new server that would provide better access And allow Zenimax to maintain core server integrity (i'm sure HK is out of the question). Thus, Pacific/Oceanic would still have to connect through Hong Kong hub to access - and you would still have long Ping times.

I'm sure the governments in the area know about the issue and are working to make improvements in the future.

I don't play Black Desert so I can't tell, as for ESO grind, I'm referring to the RNG in this game, like Master Angler, etc in general, and farming specific set especially the perfected one. I only play the game on weekend and I don't PUG in vet trial, so yeah it's not applicable for everyone. Good thing it's way easier now.
If Black Dessert is truly like that, then it's clearly not my game lol, I thought the trend of MMORPG is getting more casual friendly with a better QoL, guess I'm wrong.

Btw it's nice to see server crowded, I love to pick the morning time here too because that's when the NA and Oceania players gather
