RedGuard DragonKnight points and skills?
i have recently started this game and now i am level 40, i have been running red guard dragon knight doing some heavy tank, but i dont know if i am doing it right, please correct me if any thing is wrong. i know that i dont have to worry about my points and skills at leveling up but now i am close to 50 i need to start understanding what do i need to do. i have been putting all of my points at health and i have been running 1h and shield and a bow as secondary. my skill points are everywhere from 1 handed weapon to all 3 classes that honestly i barely use any class skills except for boosting my damage or health. i have been running all heavy armor no medium or light, please correct me on what do i need to do. should i switch my points to stamina? just give me an advice. thanks!

Online a whole bunch of guides for different roles. Decide on your game style and goals, choose the one you like and adjust it as you go.

my advice is stop stressing, u got ur grp members for that (: either google a guide for dk tanking or ask for a newbie friendly guild on reddit and ask them to teach u

Just relax. Pick a build from YouTube or Alcast web page, and follow it.

Just remember that should wait to CP160 to start gathering an armor set

Look up some guides if you really want to max out your effectiveness without experimenting a lot

But for tanking, skills you need are a taunt (redguards are best with stamina so you would use 1 hand and shield taunt) and an aoe attack (so you can start the fight with lots of enemies with the aoe and make enemies attack you first)... for dragonknights that would be dark talons (with the morph that decreases the affected enemies's damage)
And then DKs have that armor skill that increases their resistances and also that obsidian shield... and green dragon blood is great for self heal.... those are good skills for tanks
And lastly when it comes to skills you should have a skill that pulls enemies to you... helps with stacking... DKs have that unrelenting grip skill but if you morph the crossbow skill from the fighter's guild line so it pulls enemies to you that could work too

I wouldn't use bows as tank because your job is not to do damage, but rather to survive as much damage as you can... but you could just place down endless hail and poison arrow periodically to do some damage and then switch back to your shield... don't know how well that would work... but you wouldn't be doing that much damage even so

And there's nothing wrong with wearing only heavy armor, but if you have that passive skill unlocked from the Undaunted skill line that gives all your stats bonuses based on how many types of armor you have then it might be better to wear 5 heavy armor pieces and 1 medium and 1 light armor to get the full bonus from that passive

As for attributes you need health but you will also need more stamina and magicka... some skills I mentioned above use stamina but others use magicka... so you would be using both... you would want to have your stamina higher though so that when you get the synergy from spear shards and orbs then you would recharge stamina

And DKs regenerate resources when they use their ultimate (well that is if they have the passive in their earth skill line unlocked) so that's useful to keep in mind... you can basically reset yourself if you use the magma armor (also the higher the ultimate cost the more resources you regenerate) and you can also use light attacks and heroic slash (1 hand and shield skill) to regenerate your ultimate.... I slotted Magma armor on one weapon line and on the other I slotted war horn... the idea was that I could buff my other group members with war horn but if needed I could activate the armor ultimate so I can survive for a while longer if things go wrong

Well that's how I played with my redguard dk tank but maybe I'm wrong on some things... and I only did veteran dungeons for a bit and didn't even play that char in a while because I put all his skill points into crafting

But basically what you should be doing as a tank is to keep the taunt on as many enemies as you can, survive hits, stack mobs in an area so DDs (or DPSs if you enjoy using terms that don't make sense) can use their area attacks effectively and to support your team with some buffs and some heals / shields (obsidian shield gives everyone around you shield btw).... if you can do these then you're performing your role perfectly fine
