What is the purpose of a staff that boosts stamina max and stamina recovery?

I've been playing very casually for about two years and have 9 characters of which I have only taken one to level 50 or so. I said this so you would know that there are surely many things about character builds, game mechanics etc. that I haven't experienced yet. Sooo..I have come across in chests, rewards, etc. staves that increase max stamina and recovery. They are part of sets. Why would my magicka characters use such a staff or even armor for that matter? Staves are obviously the preferred weapons of magicka chars whose damage is based on magicka resources...so why boost stamina? I know there are also swords, bows etc, that boost magicka rather than stamina. Just curious since I'm still learning... Thanks for any feedback!

It's just the way sets work. Theres a chance that a piece from any given set can be any of the equipment types, most of the time a magicka boosting set on a sword is pretty useless but it also makes the inferno staves which people actually want more rare.
