The game is closed to new players basically unless they have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of money to blow on that crown store to buy the basic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dlc.
Yeah, 10$ for monthly subscription granting you acess to all DLCs is ALOT OF MONEY, A FORTUNE FOR A GAME WHICH CAN PROVIDE YOU HUNDRES OR THOUSENDS OF HOURS FUN!!!!
Anyway, how much crowns costs Morrowind? If you will buy ESO+ then you will get access to all DLCs and you will get 1500crowns/month (all sum is being paid at once after you purcharse ESO+) so you will be able to buy Morrowind directly from the crown store. If you are cheap steak then just wait for the promotion in the crown store - Morrowin often gets -50% during holidays and now it's comming Halloween & slowly X-mas. You can unsubscibe in any moment and I think that you don't even need a credit card to buy subscription on Steam (paysafe/steam wallet shall work).
Even if you already own the game, buying the collection is the best option, I found that out the hard way yesterday and I'm bitter about it because I bought summerset then morrowind offsite for $30, and now if I want the rest of the dlc included in the dlc it costs me a whooping 40$ lol.
