Don't worry about your armor. You will change it pretty fast. The only thing you should keep in mind that the Training trait gives extra xp, so try to wear pieces with that.
Medium armour is good for stamina builds, make sure you unlock all the armour skill lines by equipping 3 pieces of whatever armour of each type, then you want 5 meduim and 1 light and 1 heavy while you're levelling so you can easily change to a different type of armour later if you want because they will be all levelled.
For a magicka based build you want 5 light and 1 heavy and 1 medium.
As mentioned above it doesn't matter so much what you wear while you are just adventuring at a low level, either craft some basic armour, ask in your guilds or zone for a friendly crafter willing to make a set of training gear, or grab whatever pieces of armour you loot and wear them. Unless you are dying a lot this will be fine. Particularly look for pieces of looted armour that boost training as they will help you level faster.
I often use a disguise or costume at low level so my mismatched armour looks less awful. Some quests have disguises you can wear during the quest and I have to admit I tend to stash them in the bank so I have extra dress-ups. Back before Crown Store and armour dying this was as good as it got, lol, and the habit kind of stuck.
