If I am unnable to understand or follow the MAIN quest, is it achievable or even worth it to do all the quests I see around ? Is it profitable or a good way to level up for the first time
Every 5 levels or so you meet the prophet and do a main quest.
There's also the alliance questline, whichever Alliance you choose has a faction quest line.
There's also guild quest lines.
AFAIK you just need to talk to the prophet to get the harborage quest which is the beginning of the main solo quest line.
I really recommend the add-on.

a messanger will come to you and tell you to go and see someone in Glenumbra.
I don't remember exactly who, you can do this when ever you like after that.
You will be knocked unconsious and end up in prison.
That will set you on a path to escape from prison and start you twoard talking to the Prophet.
He will start you on the main quest in the game.
ESO's main story is sort of like Guild Wars 2's personal stories.
Vulkhel Guard (Auridon) /
Daggerfall (Glenumbra) /
Davon's Watch (Stonefalls)
and Prophet would contact you to start Main Quest.
