Wardens have a lot of good heals and defence skills.
That's pretty much it, wardens heal better, templars have better utility.
But that might change at summerset, especially when they'll give dragon knights, nightbaldes and sorcerers better healing options.
But like @Sajah said, Templars can cleanse effects and help the group's sustain. Their healing ult either immobilizes you or don't allow you to use other skill while channeling the ult, but most people are gonna say that you don't really need the healing ults, so doesn't really matter if you follow the meta I guess.
When it comes to tanking, it's more of a pick and choose. Wardens are better able to defend themselves, as well as heal, while Templars would either need the heavy armor skill line or spent some cp on resistance to be close to the mitigation cap.
As DDs, Wardens have a trash dps. But from what I've heard from the Summerset PTS, is that Warden's can get a pretty good dps output with their bear pets. But currently, Templars have better dps than Wardens.
