And yeah, I understand because when the Gold Edition is on sale, it's much cheaper than buying in Crown Store.
But it's not currently cheaper. The gold edition you pay $29.99 at it's curent sales price. The cost of Tamriel is NOT reduced from the price (like it would be if you were upgrading to morrowind). The sale price of 5500 crowns (the cost of the 4 DLC bundle) is currently 26.79. Currently you save money buying it in the crown store.
But the store page now specifically says "The purchase of a Tamriel Unlimited or Gold Edition game cannot be combined with any existing Elder Scrolls Online account and must be accessed separately through the Steam client.". So did the change it from when you bought it? Because it's saying it will not upgrade an existing account...
They mean Bethesda Launcher version instead of the Steam one
One little thing is, Crowns arent that common on sales. If i remember right, current one is 3rd for this year. There was one before Steam Summer Sale (i purchased Mushroom Tower) and one in august or september, right before they added 14k and 21k crowns packs.
And ESO, GE and Morrowind sales are kinda common, you can see those nearly every month.
So, crown sale is kinda exception. True, crowns on sale is cheaper than GE. But normally GE is a bit cheaper than ESO+5500 crowns pack.
Rawr talking about early purchases stage, when people with stand-alone account could bound those to Steam by purchasing ESO in Steam and clicking "use with already existing account" instead of creating new one. For now this function seems disables, so Steam people can only create new account.
There was funny thing about that linking. People with those can launch game with Bethesda client and Steam client, without any difference. And for new ones Steam people cant use Bethesda client, it's gonna tell them "hold right there, criminal scum, go away and launch game via Steam".
That's probably what I'll get.
