Login error, account verification.
Hi I've purchased the game during the free weekend. I had no problems logging in before buying the game, however after buying it I get an error when I try to login.

The error is: Your account must be verified in order to continue to play. Check the email you used to create an ESO account for instruction on how to complete the verification process.

I've had no e-mail. My Steam account has the same e-mail as my eso account but I originally made my eso account from when the game was in beta. I've also logged in to my eso account but it doesn't show that I have a game linked to it.

This worked for me thanks to xxxVIKTORxxx

Make sure you'r browser is full screen then do the following:

Go here; https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/login

Where it says create account below that you should see sign in with steam, sign in using your steam details. You may have a steam security check, just follow the on screen prompt. Once done you will have a message saying account not verified, but you will have the option to resend the verification e-mail. Click resend, this e-mail will go to your e-mail address that is linked to your steam account.

I had to do this twice, the first time verification failed. This might not be the case for you. Once done you will need to register name and password and thats it. You should now be able to login to your eso account by clicking sign in with steam. Check you have an active account. If you do close steam and the eso client, restart pc. Now login in to steam and try eso.

Fixed it :P

1. Go to official TESO site.
1.1. Click X on your browser adress-line when it's auto-readressing you on page with 404 Error.
1.2. Log in with Steam account: right-down gray buttom.
1.3. Log in with steam account, and every time while you moving on TESO off-site - click X for avoid auto-login.
2. Click for re-sent verification mail to your e-mail.
2.1. Use link from your e-mail for activete.
2.2. Wait for 10-20 minuts and return to 1.2.
3. In the end your e-mail will be activated and linked to your Steam.
4. Enter the game and play :P


I'm reinstalling game to check if this works, happy to say my account is verified.

Hello,

have you verfified the account with the mail you got when you registered during the free weekend you had 3 days for it ?

Did you buy the game through steam or from the website if its off steam the account isn't linkable to steam unless the retailer specified it's for steam if you used out of steam certified retailers.

I have used the process in this link after the free weekend ended and all worked fine :

Also I've installed the game in a different partition and not in the standard C: one that steam does by default.

If you can't get the verification mail send just create a new eso account and try to link it with your steam account or reset the password on your current one that might do the trick.

The current version build list on that link is 1380321.
Mine was 1452520. I re-downloaded the whole damn game again and it's still 1452520 !!!

I'll try the change password and new account methods but this is frankly BS that I've wasted too much time on trying to fix already.

yes that is my current build 1380321 and its working the 1452520 build was the one during the free weekend and I have deleted that.
Yeah sadly sometimes its a real pita hope you and the rest that have problems get it sorted .

It linked my account with Steam. Then I bought some extra stuffs that was on sale. Now I can't play the game. I think its them. Just got to wait :candycane:

Good luck with that and hope it works. I'm still not receiving the validation email when trying to log in through steam.

I had to resend then link on the eso side when I was registering first the first attempt didn't seem to send the mail or maybe the button timed out to send it.
In regards to the build you have to that of the guide, I'd say it's an old guide. If you've done a fresh install not to worry so much about the build you have. If what has worked for me hasn't worked you contact contact eso support. Even if it means making a new account just to be able to e-mail them.

When you do contact them don't be vague and say stuff like I've tried everything, be as detailed as possible, have information to hand, take screen shots of the any error messages. Try to make their job easier that might sound daft but the easier their job, the quicker they should be able to help you. If you do resolve your issue share the fix here, even if its something that we can't fix ourselves, it gives others the incentive to contact support.
