Enlightenment System Encourages me to stay offline ...
The Enlightenment System encourages me to stay offline so that when I do come online I can grind for like 5minutes and get an insane amount of XP ...

This is coming from a new players perspective - I have played a week and am 104 cp. I have grinded as hard as possible and tried to learn the game also so I have wasted a fair amount of time now too. I have now come to the conclusion that me spending hours grinding like 10 cp points the other day is not worth it when I could have just stayed offline for a while and came and got them super easily ...

I am now not sure if it's worth me staying offline for 24 hrs or something - grinding cp - going offline and repeating the process. Because the amount of work I have to put in while being online to match the 'free xp' it would give me for being offline is a lot. It's not rewarding to grind out those points when I know I could have just played another game and got them easily when I came back on.

It really deflates me and makes me want to just chill offline and hop on like once every now and then to grind cp until I can compete it PVP. So maybe change the system or something because surely you would rather people were logged in as opposed to being offline?

****I am aware you can just go on a different character and level it to 50, however I don't see the need for this right now for me personally - I just want to grind out CP to compete in PVP then I will make other builds/characters.**********

I think the enlightenment system is cool and it is a decent catch up mechanic but this is from a new players perspective who came from a mob grinding mmo (Black Desert Online) the system has many flaws. I am ready to grind for 8-12 hours a day to catch up and become the best ... But this game doesn't seem to want that? It'd rather I went offline or leveled a char 1-50 ... It confuses me - don't you want me to keep playing? Because right now I am writing this on stead of playing the game.

Not everyone will agree with this but this is my perspective and how I feel about the system. Maybe I am looking at it the wrong way but right now I am not playing ESO because I am charging enlightenment .. That feels stupid.

Just play normally after it runs out?
It's not like your game depends on that bonus exp. If it bothers you that much go buy some of the exp boosting potions. Psyjic ambrosia, and one other one I think.
its not like you gonna get good in pvp in an instance after you leveled up lol
become ESO plus member and get an 10% XP boost, gold gain, trait research and inspiration, plus acess to all dlc's and use of a unlimited craft bag.

10% xp .. I have DLCs and don't need a craft bag?
Also I never said I would be good in PVP I said 'compete in PVP'

What you suggest though trigger does not solve my issue at all.
It's not like you have to stay offline to "charge" enlightenment. It's simply a bonus gained once a day.
Adec I just found this out from a streamer thank you for your comment I am really happy now and I clearly was told the wrong information from literally multiple people xD Anyway good news ty for your response.
Okay so was offline for 12 hours logged on had 400k enlightenment xp ready for me. Logged off for 8 hours logged on 400k more enlightenment xp ...
How does this work??
Multiple times per day, if I grinded for those 8 hours hypothetically I don't think it woulda enlightened me

It just happens at a certain time of day. If you're online at the time you get it immediately. If not, you get it next time you login.
Enlightenment occurs every 24 hours, starting from when you first unlock the Champion Points i.e when you first reach lvl 50. It resets every 24 hours after it first starts.

Normally you earn CP for every 400k XP. With enlightenment, you earn CP every 100k. Enlightenment accrues for a max of 12 days.

What this means is if you log on every day, you will earn 1 CP for 100k XP. If you don't log on for 3 days, you will have enough enlightnment to earn 3 CP for every 100XP. However if you have a month's break, you will only have enough enlightenment to earn 12 CP for every 100k.

Really, just log on whenever you want to play. If you're looking at grinding out your CP, do dolmens, World Bosses, dungeons. Even PVP & questing will soon have you building up that XP. In other words, just get in there and play.
It doesn't take 400k for a CP, at least not until you're pretty far up there.

This right here.

@OP: I used to feel the same way you do about the Enlighenment System, I really did.

Then I just started enjoying the game and played it regardless. Now Enlightenment is more of a bonus instead of an annoyance.

Also, the craft bag alone is well worth the purchase of ESO+... it's why I just bought six months recently. Then again, my NB has 3 (going on 4) maxed professions, so there's that.
