ESO Launcher not updating so i cannot get in to the game

As soon as i open the game, the Launcher stalls in "Updating". but the bar doesnt fill up. iT just stays ther for hours. Any solution for this?? Im not Playing ESO since last year so i guess it has to update at some point but, the updating not even start. I already added ESO to Avast exceptions, just in case that has anything to do with the issue.

Run the repair on the Launcher it's located under Options

Disable your antivirus temporarily to allow ESO to update. I can confirm that this solved for me with AVG and for others with Avast too.

Exceptions may not be enough. Just disable Avast for a while.

I uninstalled the steam launcher and now use Zenimax's and it works fine for me like that
