Crown store motifs
If you buy a motif with crowns do you still have to meet the crafting level requirement to use it?

You do. Crown motifs are just a way to skip the farming part, you get the motif in your inventory but you still need the reqs to learn it.

To keep it short, yes, you need a crafter in your character list.

Then what is the purpose of mimic stones?
Drake Feb 23, 2019 @ 6:48am
mimic stones replace the style materials, in case you don't have the material in inventory. Like the crown styles, the only purpose here is to cut the farming process by paying. You still need a crafter char to do the job.

The items in the crown store aren't the same you would get by farming motifs so I'm pretty sure they bypass this condition, just check the in-game description, there should be no requirement listed.

Mimic stones are kind of not useful at all anymore since the outfit station.

Its a bundle so it doesnt say that it just says like "This enables crafting in the utilitarian and militaristic Mercenary style."

A motif purchased in the Crown Store is the same as one that is obtained in game. There is no difference. The only time you dont have a requirement is when you use it for a costume.

If you want to actually make the item, such as making it and selling it or giving it to another person, you need the crafting level. If you just want to use it to change your personal look as in a costume over top of your existing item, you dont need the crafting level.

But you need the requirement to learn the motif, not use it.

Yes. Sorry I just realised what I said was wrong. You still need the crafting level to be able to learn it. Even if you are just using it on a costume. Was remembering something else that was said elsewhere I guess as my main was already master in all the trades before this new costume system started.

Nope, not the same items. You get the same thing in the end, but the names and thus the items are different. Motifs in the crown store are named "Crown Crafting Motifs: whatever" instead of "Crafting Motif: whatever" (not sure about the english names though since I'm playing in french).
There's no requirement listed in the description (you can see it without buying it btw OP, just hover the motif book in the package, you can also preview it if you click on it) for the crown crafting motifs.

I just checked in game.
