Best place to steal from for high quality items?
Just asking as, some of the thief guides are out of date, opinions on where to go?

Alinor in Summerset has a few nice spots, as well as Shimmerene (and some places you can loot for nice things without it being stealing). But other than that it's really just RNG what you get from where.

Prior to posting this thread, been doing signed in blood, looting the nobels estate (then abandoning quest repeatedly with every run into the said estate), learned from my original character you can't re-enter that estate once the quest is done.

One run from the quest netted 3 blue items, but I will give this a try regarding Alinor in Summerset and Shimmerene

The Chapel in Shimmerene is not stolen loot but has several wardrobes and trunks and stuff which typically drop some decent items you won't even have to fence. Also quite a few scholarly NPCs in there as well. Alinor has a lot of Noble types and plenty ot nooks to hide from guards. Happy Thieving!

Signed in blood is the second db mission right ? I'm pretty sure you can go back again . I have already completed the quest , but I was able to enter the estate many times when other of my friends got the quest ( it's a one time quest , so it doesn't have to do with sharing ) or in general I was able to return alone . I'm quite sure that you can return in most areas after you fully complete a quest . Anyway if we're talking about the same place you can enter again .

Yea, you can go back in. I haven't found anywhere to be especially good for it. Even the lock boxes in the banks can hold something as simple as berries. Ive robbed them and gave up because of no real reward.

Care to tell me what am I doing wrong? Using my alt (who completed all brotherhood quests) to verify your claim, unless I am told what am I doing wrong, I'll never complete signed in blood =P. Nobody within eyeshot either nor any other players at the time I tried re-entering his estate

I haven't been there recently but a couple of months ago I was there and I was able to enter . I didn't do anything special , I just unlocked the door and entered the house . Also I used the secret passage from the tavern but I doubt it has to do anything with it . After that I went to the cellar and I did the puzzle again the secret door opened , I went in and reached the end where you're supposed to kill the guy ( he only appeared when my friends had the quest tho ) and that's it . Next time I log , I'll check it out as well and let you know if it's still possible .

I believe thieving in Vvardenfell can get you Redoran, Telvanni and Hllalu motifs and blueprints. They are worth some money on the guild markets.

Well I went to the estate as well and indeed it doesnt let you in . Anyway they either changed it or its a bug .

Pickpocketing individuals in Vvardenfel has a chance for a motif from one of the Great Houses (Telvanni, Hlaalu, Redoran) which are usually worth somewhere between 10-15k on NA atm. The higher the social status, the higher the chance for these, but also the harder to pickpocket they are - the drop rate is actually pretty good though. It was stated when this first was added to the game that you could also find them in justice containers, however I never actually saw any of them in those containters. Keep in mind, you go on a cooldown for these motifs, and will not be able to get another for about an hour - pretty sure it is a character and not account cooldown though.

Supposedly, Buoyant Armiger motifs can also be found in justice containers - cannot confirm though.

Pickpocketing Priests in Summerset (chapel in Alinor, not sure where else you can find a bunch of em) has a chance for a blue woodworking design that last I knew was selling for around 80k on NA. It is called Blueprint: Alinor Pew, Polished.

Pickpocketing Outlaws has a chance for the purple Khajiit Skooma Bubbler furnishing design which was going for 250k a year or so ago when I was looking for it - no idea what they go for now, could be much less, same or much more. I'd google some more info about this, because I feel like there is another type of NPC they can be pickpocketed from, or that there is something I am forgetting. The palace in Hew's Bane used to be a great area for farming these, but they since made it so it won't drop in there I believe (ppl weren't advancing the storyline, just dropping and restarting this mission to get into the palace and loot for it).

There are tiers to drop tables - wardrobes and trunks have the highest tier, as in the highest chances for some of the best items in the game. Finding a place with a lot of wardrobes and trunks, especially in new zones as the purple furnishing plans for new content are worth a ton, is a good idea for farming. These containers don't have to be justice either. There is a mansion on the northern edge of Northern Elsweyr a little west of Rimmen that has several trunks and wardrobes, iirc I got 2 purple furnishing recipes out of those when Elsweyr was first released.

Apart from that, mages and nobles have the highest chance for pickpocketing purple items. I used to go around in a circle in the Mages Guild in Deshaan, and over a short period of time have an inventory full of blue items.

Edit: I just checked TTC, and the blue alinor pew blueprint has listings around 50k, and the skooma bubbler design has listings around 500k on NA
