If you're just curious about the overall player count though, they put out rough figures every yearish. Most recent one is 15 million accounts: https://www.pcgamesn.com/the-elder-scrolls-online/player-count
I think they're most likely about the same overall, but if you have the ping for it I'd recommend NA. Some friends of mine from the EU region play on NA and swear by it. According to them, the pop on NA is better for when they play.
What can be objectively measured though is population, or it would be if we had that info :(
Thus there should be a total of 3.75 million active players in the game, which is more then most mmos out there on the market, including WoW. Which based on estimates has around 2 million active users. But again, this is just me spit balling here. There is no way to know that exact number unless the company releases the active population count, which i doubt they will.
I don't much care for the total population because as you said, it seems fine.
Nit picking the actual populations is meaningless.
Alot of people I run with play on both servers for various reasons.
All I want is the difference in active players, the mmo I played the most literally had a list of currently active players, their class, lvls etc. even warcraft I think had some way to tell.. what a time when I can say even Warcraft.
I guess i'm early enough to restart all i've done is the tutorial, ran around collecting nodes and got the professions base training.
