Summerset. defeating K'tora

I am past level 50 and a high elf sorcerer. I cannot get thru the quest to kill the slug K'tora. I keep running into the same character in Summerset wanting me to do it again so if I never defeat him can I still continue the main quests? My only weapon is 2 handed and I have several sorcerer powers but I have only ever played solo. It also takes quite a while to replay that quest because it seems to only save at the very beginning of the quest. so I have to keep repeating the part to get the staff. Maybe what I need is someone else, or a group with different powers to play that quest with me but have had no luck finding anyone and in the 3 or 4 times I have gone back no one else has been there. I am so used to being solo in all the games I play I don't even know how to find a group or interact with it. Any suggestions?

I've found that ranged is best. Get a cheap bow or staff and just fight from a distance.

I am having the same problem. I am a nightblade with no ranged weapon and I am stuck in the "mind" area that he is in. Is there a way to leave the area? I logged out and back into the game and I am still in this area. Please excuse me for being new to the game if I don't know all of the mechanics of stuff like this.

I have seen videos of people defeating him easily, but they are higher level characters with ranged weapons and/or strong AOE attacks. As a dual wielding NB, I have neither and can't seem to leave the area to get a bow, etc.

You can just Teleport out I think. By going to your map then click on a wayshrine but you'll have to fight through it all over again.

I wish I had used a bow as well as 2 handed from the beginning. As far as I understand the game a bow now would be like a bow at level 1. Basically useless becuase it would require days of combat to increase it's power. I have my 2 handed and sorcerer powers as high as I can get them and I still cannot complete the quest. You can exit that quest by simply leaving the game and signing back in, or abandoning the quest, or when killed choose the wayshrine and exit from there. You will continue to run into Oriana wanting you to do it again while exploring Summerset.

Thanks, guys. After posting, I thought of porting out of the area, finally. Like I said, I am quite new to the game. I played a bit when it first came out, but don't remember much about it. I am going to level my bow skills some and do other quests in the meantime. I am only level 8 so far.
