New Player Wondering Where to Start

Sorry I would like a little guidance, I'm sure this has been asked a bunch, but I just bought the game and summerset expansion. I noticed that my character starts off in Summerset.

I kind of want to start in the base game, then do Morrowind, then Summerset. Did I need to do something else when I created my character? Or how would I go about this?

Or is it better to do the expansion first before going back?

ANSWER
I found I needed to go to the starting town not the starting island. A hooded figure will approach me and start the questline that will bring me to the starting island properly.

If you own Morrowind, you start there by default. Same with Summerset, except it overrides Morrowind if you own both.

Just go to your alliance's capital, the main quest will start there.

@Kate Hanami, I wouldn't mind a buddy for getting started and learning things! I just did the tutorial and wanted to make sure I was starting at a good place and to see if it was recommended if I do the base game first.

Make sure you are both on the same server - NA or EU.

As soon as you exit the tutorial, ignore any questgiver there, find the closest shrine and TP to your alliance starting island

Bleakrock Isle for Ebonheart Pact
Khenarthii's Roost for Aldmeri Dominion
Stros M'kai for Daggerfall Covenant

Do the 'big' questline there and everything will flow smooth into the story, main quest and alliance quest

NPCs will contact you after you leave the island
Benefactor quest is the start of main quest


If you have access to it, feel free to visit thieve guild and brotherhood guild early as some of their stuff are quite handy for general gameplay (not combat related) + nice stories
