Transmutation Crystals

My inventories are full of these things, and since they are bound I can't sell-- so I want to destroy. I have like six hundred and its a serious PITA. AM I missing something- I thought they can only change attributes that I have already researched, and since I craft armor sets for all toons with my master crafter and they already have attributes I want I have no use for them. Should I just delete them?

Transmutation crystals work on gear you can't craft. Especially monster and raid sets where rng is a ♥♥♥♥♥.
Works also on weapons and jewelry.

You can change atrributes from stuff you didnt crafted (looted, bought...)

If you have too much for your needs, trash the surplus

If you have no need for the stones then learn the nirn trait on weapons, change a basic weapon trait to Nirn using your crystals and then decon it for a chance of getting a free potent nirn. At least that way you might get some return for the unwanted transmute mats.

Weird. Generally crafted sets are considered slightly sub-par - in fact I've never heard anyone claiming that the crafted ones were better. I wouldn't destroy the crystals before researching this further, you may regret it later.

Even if the crafted items are better for your characters and their builds, you could make some gold with the transmutation crystals. Just buy gear from a popular set, but with an undesirable trait, from a guild trader. Change the trait to one that people want, and sell the item with a profit. Why destroy something that can make you money?

He just might have geodes in its inventory, you dont have to open them, you can just stash them.
