Are you sure that the noise came from the CPU fan and not from something else - GPU for example?
Which CPU and Graphics card do you have? Do you have any other fans that might start up under heavy load, but might not work correctly, such as a mainboard fan?
Still 85+% seems very high, on the verge of full load
This game is quite well optimized and runs well on medium PC
Ive a 4790K, decent, but not highend CPU
It is very rarely over 30%, most of the time between 10 and 20%
Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
12 GB Ram
any other specs/components i dont know since i bought this PC back in 2013, but yes my PC meets minimum requirements.
as for the noise it always gets this loud if my CPU is above 60% which is very rare to get that high
4770 is weaker than 4790K, but not too much
It shouldnt be at 80+% workload anyway, more like 25-50%
The noise is coming from the fans spinning faster to work against high temp (from heavy CPU use)
Not a problem in itself if temp stays under max
There are plenty of free softwares to check temp and various other things (voltages, fans speed...)
Having one is handy to troubleshoot
I like HWMonitor as it is light, simple and precise, and without any BS
Still, doesnt explain the heavy load...
Perhaps you are running the game on the integrated card and not the GPU
in game was 81C
fans spinning at ~2300 and ~2800 each in game (2 fans)
out of game ~1500 each
not sure about integrated card since im not really sure what that is
This is very high for an 'idle' CPU
Should be more around 30-35C
Add in the game running and temp raises like crazy as it start from way too high
Either your case is full of dust, making cooling inefficient, or your CPU thermal paste is dead
Probably both...
You should at least open case and do some dust cleaning
Dont touch the CPU and thermal paste if you dont know how to...ask a friend who knows
Integrated card is a GPU integrated into the CPU, most Intel CPU have one
Not really adapted to gaming, but better than no GPU
Problem with it (apart from lack of power) is the CPU has to do both jobs, its CPU usual job, plus rendering graphics
So, it has to work a lot more than usual
HWM should show the GPU used in the bottom
Doubt it is this anyway as ESO should run like crap on integrated
im getting a new custom built PC in a few weeks so this shouldnt be a problem anymore, just sucks i cant try out ESO
i appreciate all the help! thank you
