Morrowind has the warden class, therefore counts as just morrowind.
The Morrowind DLC does not include the Warden class.
Someone's a bit out of touch, it seems.
Yeah the game says otherwise.
Yes, Morrowind (on Steam, which I think is just base and Collection versions) do include Warden. From what I've seen in other discussions, the Crown Store Morrowind DLC (the one purchased for 3500 crowns) does not include Warden (though I cannot confirm that).
If Warden is the only thing I'm missing then I'm good to go! ESO+ should give me membership to everything else.
I'll explain it again in more detail, because it indeed is a bit confusing.
Morrowind _used_ to be a chapter, and used to include the Vvardenfell region, the Warden class, and the Battlegrounds multiplayer mode.
At the time when Summerset was released. the Morrowind chapter as a single product was removed from all stores. The Morrowind chapter was split into three parts: the Battlegrounds became part of the base game, the Warden class became available in the Crown Store (and now doesn't require Morrowind any more), and the Vvardenfell region was rebranded as "Morrowind DLC", put into the Crown Store as well, and is now (since it's a DLC) included in the ESO+ subscription. Somwhat counter-intuitively, if you buy the base game with Morrowind included, you'll still get the Morrowind chapter, not just the DLC, which adds to the confusion.
It's a bit complicated, but not hard to check if you want to. Zenimax has released several info articles before the change took place.
Thanks for the information!
If it's alright with you, I'd like to go off-topic (in my own thread) and ask, what do you recommend spending crowns on? I only have 4300 crowns after purchasing the Warden class.
You already got the Imperial race and the Warden class, these would usually be my first suggestions. ;)
There's the "Any race, any alliance" upgrade (1900 crowns) that enabley you to freely choose your alliance at character generation. It's useful if (for example) you want to experience many different races, but stay in the same alliance. Or if you want to PvP in Cyrodiil together with friends (which requires all of you to be in the same alliance) but play a race that's not part of his alliance. But if you don't care much about alliances, you don't need this upgrade.
Character slots cost 1500 crowns each and are what I'd go for. I typically try to get the "full experience" out of a game like this, and the default 8 character slots aren't enough for the game's 10 races. I'm also a hoarder, and every character gives you 60 more inventory slots, plus 80 if you spend gold on buying him bag space, plus 60 if you spend gold and time on buying him the respective riding lessons.
Some people like the summonable banker or merchant, but I think they are too expensive (5000 crowns each) and not really needed. There are banks in every region, and merchants all over the place.
I wouldn't buy storage chests (they can be bought with high-tier in-game currencies, and provide less space than additional characters), houses (most can be bought with gold, and the ones that require crowns look nice, but have the same item limits as the ones that can be bought with gold), consumables (you'll get enough of those as daily rewards, or can just buy better stuff from guild traders or eventually craft it yourself), or cosmetics (you'll occasionally get some from free crates anyway).
Note that you don't have to spend the crowns right now, they won't go away. You can just play for a while and then see what you'd need the most. If you consider playing without ESO+ at some time, you may also want to save them now and buy the DLC that you want most when your subscription ends.
Appreciate the info! I got the Any race, Any Alliance thing already from somewhere (Imperial Edition possibly). I'll probably hold onto the crowns and see what to do with them later.
Thanks again!
