Spellsword class when?
I mean, Nightblade was also a TESIV class and it got in. Now that people are saying it got hinted a Necromancer class (which its practice is banned on Tamriel), why not getting a Spellsword next?

I think that major issue with spellsword class would be a fact that it would be very difficult to balance it since ESO forces us to min max either stamina or magicka. I also think, that necromancer class would fit perfectly into the game. It's in the lore, there are necromancers all over the place. In fact, you can turn into werewolf in the front of the city guards and they wont react. You enter the shop in the skeleton skin and buy yourself a sword. It's MMO over all, we need to have some compromises. I would rather see 2 additinal classes - Barbarian and Necromancer. Barbarian would be forced to go into stamina while Necromancer into magicka, while both should provide alternative builds around these two atributes.

Stam Sorc is very limited.

Also Spellswords don't focus on Conjuration unlike the Sorcerer, Spellswords are not limited to Destruction, they also have high afinity in Alteration, Illusion and Restoration. They would more likely focus on hybrid damage.

Barbarian would be a good idea for an off-tank with lifestealing or health regen skill trees. Even tho there is no off-tank, that addition would break this meta tradition and the DD/Tank/Healer team queue system. I think Monk might be next after Necromancer, there are some guys asking for it on the TES forums, Bard would be good tho.

Look up, DRAGON are coming.

TBH every class is the same in long play. There aren't many differences and comparing it to Oblivion or Morrowind's classes is out of question. (from an old school CRPG guy, never played MMOs except DDO)

I would like it, but they choose the necromancer as the next class. In my opinion, it was a poor choice, because the game have a lot of lore to explore.

For example, yesterday I did two quests for Hermaeus Mora, with the same character. It was coincidental, since I was looking for skyshards, but I liked both the quests. Why we dont have more quests like those? You go overland and 90% of the content are necromancers, necromancers, necromancers, its very boring. And now we will have a necromancer class.

A spellsword class would be great. It could come with those spells to melt weapons and armor. It could come packed with a quest involving some daedric princes, and some magical forge in a daedric plane. It could come with a renewed akaviri invasion. It could come with the spellcrafting system. So many things, and they choose the overused necromancer theme.

stam sorc, what?
Im talking about a magicka sorc, very popular build that got some nerfs, but can still be very relevant if played correctly.

I think "classes" in Elder Scrolls Online are overrated anyway. I'd be more interested in seeing this as an unlockable skill line.

it's just a combo of already present skill lines lol

Spellword type shouldn't be a class, it should be a weapon type skill line.

Spellsword skills would be mixed resource types, costing stamina and magicka, thus relying on half of your weapon and spell power and both pools, making hybrids actually viable.

This could be doable by either adding new weapon skill lines, like the freaking conjuration weapon line, with real bound weapon skills, and a bound armour skill line.
A mixed alteration/unarmed weapon line could also work well, for a monk style.

They could also keep present weapon lines and add a third morph with mixed resources.

There are way to do it within the current system, the devs just need enough movitation. But since every random guy is asking for a necromancer instead of wanting actual TES gameplay (Am I the only one here freaking out that we still have no illusion, alteration, mysticism and conjuration lines ?).

You can make your spellsword by using both magicka and stamina skills but it won't be very effective

tbh it does not even sound like a spell sword using both tho. one or the other for max performance as well as there flat out being abilities that grand basically every characteristic of a spellsword.

Stam Sorc has magic abilities that enchant your weapons with magic, you can enchant yourself to be able to tank more damage and use a spell for a shield to protect yourself. All while still being able to use blades effectively.

Magicka Sorc with duel blades is self explanitory for a spell sword. while kind of more of a battlemage still a magic user who uses bladed weapons.
