That said, any and all pieces, even Monster set pieces you may use, need to have the Impenetrable trait on them, otherwise anyone with any amount of critical rating will just poop all over you.
Notable sets people use for PvP:
* 7th Legion
* Fury
* Crafted sets such as Hunding's Rage, Night Mother's Gaze, Julianos, etc. (although these tend to be "starter" PvP sets and get replaced later)
Instead of speccing yourself for all-out damage, you have to focus on survivability and sustainability first and foremost. Flat damage is countered by capped resistances (which you should aim for), critical damage is countered by Critical Resistance (this is why you use Impenetrable on all 7 slots), and everything else comes down to getting the most damage/utility out of sets that you can, based on what you're playing.
So for a MagickaDK, you're going to primarily be in melee range anyway, so all those capped resistances are an absolute must for you. Pair those with your various damage shields and Major Ward/Resolve and such, and you'll be super tanky.
After that, and only after that, focus on damage. One of the staple MagDK abilities in PvP is Whip, so figure out which of the morphs (Power Whip? I think; could be wrong though) you're going to need to use, and build around having that, maybe a couple other damage abilities, and the rest of your abilities are going to be utility and healing.
I can't really tell you specific information as I don't play Magicka at all, and abandoned my DK after update 22 since they have this new "Seething Fury" passive that they have to maintain to be 100% effective.
my advice, leave pvp for now. Learn your class, read your spells and passives, look up eso-sets site and uesp build editor, learn mechanics, exercise on a target dummy, and then walk around Cyrodill in a group. After this, maybe you could go pvp on your own.
as general advice: use impenetrable trait on all pieces of gear, use a defensive set and as second set either a sustain one or a damage one.
why do i give u beginner advice? because since you ask what you must use, you are one. If you know your stuff then you know what you want to use depending on your playstyle, that's why i recommended you eso-sets site to filter and see what you like.
