+1 for the Auction House.
The classes are actually pretty distinct between one another, but the bigger problem is that every class in the game is being pigeonholed in to using specific weapon types.. and if you want to do Veteran Trial content, you'd best be min/maxing in to said types or I doubt you're going to have a good time keeping a spot in any group.
For instance, I really love 2H in this game; it's pretty fun, and the hits FEEL hard like a 2H should be hitting.
However, it's also about 20k DPS below Dual Wield at the highest level. It's less behind in Veteran Dungeons due to cleave (until you start talking Patchwerk-style bosses), but it's still fully capable of being further behind if you don't accommodate by switching skills basically every boss.
I think 2H/Bow Wardens are capable of 40-45k DPS with the BiS stuff, where the same build using DW/Bow, with DW skills, is around 60-65k DPS, give or take a couple thousand.
For things like Veteran Dungeons, most folks don't care; especially when you're talking higher CP players who know how to play effectively. But for Trials? Even normal Trials you might catch some flak from group members.
That, and animation canceling, are the two main flaws of this game. Unfortauntely, it's far too late for the developers to fix animation canceling, so it's here to stay.. but they could still fix the weapon issues that are still prominent today.. but it would be slightly harder to do since PvP is also involved, and they've stated that they wouldn't make a second skill template to differentiate the two.
Edit: of course, another class or two wouldn't hurt this game at all.. but, even they would be sucked in to the whole min/max weapon styling.
The class with the least amount of weapon-based skills on their bar that I've seen so far is a Stamina Warden. Most of their better abilities seem to be class abilities on the main bar, with the Bow bar basically staying the same as all other Stamina classes. :/
IMO, we dont need an auction house as we already have guild stores.
I have been playing for 5 days. Normally in the evening. I have yet to see any item actually in the guild stores, and I check them multiple times each session. Besides, AH works a lot differently, and would be better overall. If I want to ask $200k for an item only worth $500, then that's on me. Make me pay 5% if it doesn't sell, 10% if it does, to discourage me from using it as storage.
Me too. I have a whole song about Reagen the Red-Head Templar not min-maxing.
Even if the game offers no official support, people find a way to do business.
I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm going to say you're not using them properly. Are you using the search function to browse? Because you will see no items at all until you enter search criteria, and that's not always obvious to new players.
the other day , i was watching a random pvp request battle in game
a guy had over 33k resist , the other i don't now but he was pro aswel, the funny thing was, that the 33K resist guy was not taking anny damage for over 2min long, while at the same time killing the other without anny effort
very cool , but is this what we have to expect from PvP ??
AH , ughm , jeah problem is that whales, wil always find ways to make money, they have the money to just buy whatever is in stock and in demand at that time and resel it dubbel its price, good luck in the AH then if you are not rich,so back to hours of farming in the wildernis
i come from archeage, and there it happens all the time , even when you have farms and houses where you can make/grow/,,, the stuf you need , already look at the prices for alchemy ingredients, its insane ,100-200 gold for 1 plant
we can have even several houses but can't plant/grow/mine ,, annything on them ,, the game is all about time invested and farming sets , thats it, its a mmo, so either you deal with it, or you stay in PVE
So you have only two playstyles for PvP: CE user or zergling.
Metas are useless. I know most of these builds, and Im still one-shoted in Cyrodiil, by cheaters using macros and lag switches. The only way is to run with a zerg, and most players know this.
The guys who usually complains about zergs, are the same ones who talk about builds and metas. So it is easy to spot a CE user in a discussion. They are these who complain about zergs, when it is themselves, the cheaters, who force the players to run within zergs.
CE users have insane ammounts of damage and resistance, something around 50k. They provoke lag on purpose, using lag switches and every kind of hacks and scripts, and on some fights, you will find your ultimate dont work, your abilities dont fire.
Then when you point out these issues, they will say that its the servers which are bad. But I was in fights with 50 players on each side, and had no lag, whereas in smaller fights, of 10 against 10, for example, my ultimates didnt work, my abilities didnt fire. Guess what? There was a cheater in one of the groups.
Cheating is real. Cheating is bad and is destroying this game. All these nerfs are based on cheaters with insane numbers. The devs butchered the sorcs, and still, I see invincible sorcs in Cyrodiil, with infinite magicka and infinite healing.
Since the devs dont care, you probably would think about using CE. But my AV detected a threat in CE download page, so its not safe to run it. Dont risk your security because of a game, its not worthy it.
Forget 1x1. Assume that every enemy player is cheating by default. Use invisible potions to escape and not lose your ride. And go zerg, or go home.
