You can only use the Zenimax downloader/launcher if you bought the game from Zenimax. That's why I suggested trying to get a refund from Steam; you could then re-buy the game from Zenimax, where the installation needs less free space.
i honestly couldnt care less why because i can play my fav mmo again HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
This is weird, and I don't have an explanation for it, but I'm happy to have been wrong, because that means you can install the game. :)
Just to be sure (because this might be interesting information for others who have this problem), what were the exact steps that you took? Is the following list correct?
1. Download ESO from Steam
2. The ESO installer requests 80 GB additonal space
3. Cancel the installation
4. Uninstall the game through Steam
5. Try to download and install ESO again
6. Miraculously, the installer does not request the additional 80GB of space any more
Correct?
