Who loves the New Zenimax Privacy Policy?
So, we fire up ESO, and immediately get presented with a new privacy policy and are forced to scroll to the bottom and check a box to say we have read and understood the policy.

I personally don't think this is an ethical way to go about business.

The document is very substantial and is a very dense read. It is unreasonable to expect or even pretend that people will read the whole thing when what they really want to do is play the game.

What would have been more meaningful to me, and more honest for Zenimax, would have been for Zenimax to extract and highlight the bits that they have changed, and to accompany this with the rationale for doing so and the possible impacts to us. THEN we would be in a position to properly understand what we are agreeing to. In *my* work, I am expected to make plain what I am recommending.

At best, this looks like a shabby bottom-covering exercise for Zenimax. I hope that's all it is. But the lack of transparency here makes it look like Zenimax is being underhanded and are tricking us into giving something away that we wouldn't agree to ordinarily. I think Zenimax (and other software perveyors) can do better.

Who agrees?

I thought the same. I don't like waiving my data rights just to play a game. Shady business practice, and I hope the laws in U.S. change to protect consumer data better.

What kind of data they can possible take from you? Seriously - they just need it to do some stats who buys what etc - you have facebook account or google mail? You use google? Then u should be more concerned with that as this is more close to your life. Ehhh its so hard to talk to the mob - 99% just dont get this - you all focus on some not relevant crap while real problem is not visible to any of you "streamlined" majority....

I never bother to read those, because basically you agree or you cant play. But I did read the bottom portion, and it said something about you can change it later "After" agreeing to it in the first place. imo means we have your data first, then we might let you change your mind later. No big deal though because your data is already floating around everywhere. People are the real money maker for these sites, not just by what people spend on these sites, but their data they collect from people. No matter what site you use, your data is used for profit. At least that is how I understand it to be. I can very well be wrong, but thats how I understand it to be. Of course these agreements are for the companies who make you agree or they withhold whatever you are wanting from that site. Its called covering their butts and not your butt. Anywho.

Thing is, I tend to browse anonymously when possible, and I use the Brave Browser instead of Chrome, no regrets, plus I keep clear of chat normally, as well as other measures to minimize the "data" they get their hands on from me

I'll be honest, I just scrolled to the bottom and clicked Agree.

Good way to hold people hostage. Accept to our invasive policy or hit cancel and the game closes. Should be "accept" or "refund".

While I agree with you to a point it is the way all other Online Games do EULAs. ESO is no different. Not saying it's right just that they are in line with every other company out there.

It makes me agree every time I launch the game. It's really annoying.:winter2019angrysnowman:

These types of EULA are effectively blackmail.

BRIEFLY AND IF I HAVE NOT MISUNDERSTOOD (but it is better to read it if you want more correct answers) is a set of various information, from privacy, rights of use and the use of mods.

As in many online games there is also the usual phrase that says that

-the game is a concession of the house of distribution and if it deems it appropriate it will withdraw it from the "market" (therefore from use and online presence) ceasing its functionality,

-possible frequent checks or less in users suspected of not correct use of the product,

-that even the steam forum is viewed with regards to complaints and not

-the use of "collected" personal information in case of "necessity"

-if I do not remember correctly also something about users who can be permanently banned following certain actions

and many other topics of which sometimes we are addressed to various articles that must be searched separately for see what they are about

in any case the information page is WELL VISIBLE TO ALL, players and not, just write in any search engine "elder scroll online privacy rights" and what was shown on January 27, 2020 will appear, or go to see it also on the official website of the game.

So? Doesn't change my stance. I hope privacy laws are enacted for the protection of all users.

Next time try adding something useful kid.
