Nightblade with Heavy Armour?
Is this viable for end-game? I'm about to start a new character (actually a new everything ;-;), as I'm joining a friend on the NA server, migrating from EU. Wondering if it's worth trying to make a Nightblade with Heavy Armour.

In the pve content heavy armor = tank (and this works for nb), light or medium armor (magica / stamina) for DD role.

If it's for pve then it has to be a tank unless it's for solo fun. No use in being a damage char with heavy armor in pve.

If it's for pvp then only for a stamin build, but heavy stamblade imo is the strongest class in pvp right now.

Heavy armor is for survavibility and tanking...aka for tanks
NB can be tank just like any class

Heavy can be used in (hard) solo and in PvP as survivability is a factor there too
Eventually in casual groups as casual DPS
Also great at low levels, as without any armor passive, heavy > all

Now, as DPS in serious groups, not really
In serious groups, DPS job is to do as much DPS as possible, which wont happen in heavy

You mean a nightblade tank? Or a nightblade damage dealer with heavy armor?
Nightblades tank are really fun, I play one, it was my first character in this game.
For the best dps medium armor is gonna be the best.

I am running a nb with plague doc and green pact. With the siphoning skill line and around 50k health he just doesn't die. But the best critical hit damage he can get is around 12k. He can stand up to most wb so far but it takes forever. I have only done a couple of pledges as i am not an experienced tank. If the dps suck it is miserable being a tank in a group. Using blade/shield and 2handed.

Maybe question should be should I be wearing heavy armor or can I wear lighter armor and get more protection. Yes you can wear lighter armor and get more protection if you wear a SET. I wear a medium armor set "Sithis" and have much more armor protection than if I wore a heavy armor but it was mismatched.
Sure, why not.

Here, look at the available heavy armor sets (overland, the ones that drop on zones, which can be bought from guild traders) in the game:

And, here are the crafted sets, meaning all of the sets in the following link can be heavy armor:

Have fun!

The link below shows the passive skills for using heavy armor. You would want to study it to see if it would suit your build:
