Once i sold the most master wirts, now i only sell these that i will never use.
I only sell sometimes raw leather, because so much of them...
You still can make a lot of money with crafting, some sets will still bring some nice gold. Alchemy, golden glyphs.
When you are in a higher level you will get gold much faster, even the old fashioned way: a open dungeon with many humanoid enemies, they drop a lot of gold and stuff. For a fast killer easy 10-20k in 30 minutes. This way you can also farm for some nice overland sets.
Daily quests, the most of them were easy and you will get gold nice stuff (puprle jewelry sometimes and motifs)
Jewelery: still a nice income (any purple still at least 1k, some of them 10k till 20k easy)
PvP battleground for AP ot imperial city for Tel var
On the begin I made the most money by stealing from houses now i am doing only sometimes a few quests for the thives just for fun.
There were alot of ways to make money only in the very begining is gold something important later it is just something that you have and you don't use it.
Minor Threadomancy, but no one else was talking about this and bag space. Adding to what Zornvel is getting at above, and I think Jyde means Surveys.
So for the Hollowjack event, I used the XP bonus with scrolls and training armor and finally ground my mules up to level 50. They are also skilled at 50 in everything but Jewelcrafting, but I found a little trick. First, what I've noticed:
-It costs less #resources to do basic level crafting writs.
-Writ $ is according to character level.
-Writ rewards randomize between crafting level, character level, and point assignment. (Sometimes the level 50 character will get an intricate Ruby Staff, and sometimes just Maple, but their gold reward is maxed.)
-Minions mail you daily resources; the resource level is based on how many points are assigned to the craft.
-Master Writs only drop when you have all ten points in a craft.
-Sureveys drop at random, but frequently.
-Treasure maps also are reward items, but I don't like them unless it's Plaguedoctor stuff from Deshaan or something...
I have three dedicated characters, one Tank, Healer, and DPS. I have an Imperial as my Master Crafter. I have my three mules to hold things when ESO+ is not active, and finally two lowbies for giggles and variety. The Master Crafter is the only one with all ten talent points invested in Smith, Wood, or Cloth. So the others are using fewer resources for their writs than he is by assinging no skillpoints to Smithing ect...
Everyone else is basic level in those, but maxed in Alchemy, Enchanting, and Provisioning. I get a steady supply of Alchemy, Enchanting, and Provisioning writs for my MC to do and thus have a constant but small gain in writ vouchers. I built up a collection of the others writs already anyway and am waiting on 30 day timers for a few more months.
My other characters get many resources as writ rewards, intricates for the lowbies to decon, and extra resources from Minions (3/3). I actually gain basic level resources without farming. That allows my eight characters to perpetually do daily writs and still increase my stockpiles of Iron, Maple, and Jute.
The best part is, not only am I making bank while only investing 1.5 hours a day -thanks to lazy writcrafter and other mods- but I am collecting stacks of Surveys in my bank. I'll wait until I have five or more surveys for the same spot and roll out the Master Crafter for a bunch of top level resources.
The plan is to make a huge stockpile of the top level resources whilst everyone learns eight traits for each item. When that's done, I can re-allocate their skillpoints to level ten in smith, wood, and cloth as I won't need the traits to learn multiple items at a time anymore. (I'll take my time on Nirnhoned since the MC has that covered.) With the stockpile and the Minion gatherers, top level resources should perpetuate or at least be steady given the future Surveys versus the extra #resources top level writs demand.
Anyway; came to this thread because I just finished off upgrading bag space on six characters who remained unfinished, and realized that I spent over 1,000,000 gold this week. Three weeks ago I had about 600 gold to my name. Daily log in and rushing writs for 1.5 hours of time did the trick. (Login times are what extend things) It is better than hours of farming- granted I had to put in my time to level everyone and farm initial stockpiles of resources- and you can too!
I feel like I've "beaten" the game after a fashion and can enjoy going out on quests or running dungeons as I like. I'll have a relaxed future.
End game seems to be the best way, since gold is level based,as far as amount goes. You can also join a guild to sell your drops and such.I mean outside of grinding, crafting is the only way to make decent amount but that takes a lot time to master.Dolmens can also be a decent source, because generally you don't take a lot damage to gear with popular places to dolmen run since things are killed quick, while earning at least a chest full of selling loot.
Really it just depends on how much gold you want or need.I have over 1million and I don't sell stuff in guilds,I mostly do solo, but I mostly sell my stuff to merchants,I don't have the need for a lot gold though and don't really buy much outside of bank/bag upgrades since my main two characters I use are maxed on horse training.
