How do you make gold?
Inb4 someone says look it up on YouTube, I'm asking because I'm curious how other players get their gold, it doesn't have to be the best way, but how do you get the gold you need?

Personally I usually get it from quests, if not that, Dolmens, Public Dungeons and World Bosses.

You can do the eso trade. Selling crown items for gold. its legal as far as i know. BUT there are real scammers. SO be careful.
Pickpocet and murder npcs, sell the loot. Gather resources, refine and sell at trading guilds.

I farm Alliance Points then buy and sell Militant Ordinator motifs: https://us.tamrieltradecentre.com/pc/Trade/SearchResult?ItemID=15397&ItemNamePattern=Crafting+Motif+49%3A+Militant+Ordinator+Shoulders
Earning Gold in ESO:
Delves, Dolmens and Dungeons :: ~5-7k per hour, Endless
Thieving :: 8-10k per 45 minutes, once per day, per toon (2 toons, 18k per day, 120k per week)
Farming Raw Materials :: 20-40k per hour (depends on level), Endless

Daily Writs are also good, but you need a ton of supplies and you will NOT always make money on single transactions (40 Ancestor Silk per writ = 1200g to make, you sell for 620g and random junk - if the junk is junk, then you lose, but thew money is Made over the long term, and most folks do not Buy the Material, e.g. Ancestore Silk, they Farm/Buy the Raw Material and refine it)

I have one character and pull in 500k to 1+ mill a week on average through my trade guilds. I craft what I sell. I'm not even a top seller. :Daggerfall:
What are you crafting?
160K+ a day I can make with thieving alone across 8 characters. My route barely anyone uses. Takes an hour or less per character. Just the grind becomes tedious at times so get music. I only do it to the extreme if I need the gold fast.

Another method is farming resources but it involves more RNG. Also have my routes that no one touches. To be honest you get so rich in this game so fast that there is no need to grind unless you want to collect all houses but I am not such a completionist lol.

Funny enough all that gold went to my master crafter for all motifs lol. I do not even have a pvp character yet or a high CP one at that. Stuck around CP 360 lol. I actually burned myself out of the game by grinding like that. Over half of my hours were grinding rather than playing. Can not believe I actually sat trough it The alts are just grinded to level medium armor, enough skill points for maxing Thieves Guild skill tree and Legerdemain. All CP chucked in lower stamina cost of sneak and sprinting lol. Havent even done proper builds for them. What a shame. Entirely the wrong way to play the game.

Gear mostly, some furniture. If you use the standard trade guild addons, you can see what others in your guilds are making money on. By standard I mean Master Merchant, Awesome Guild Store, and Tamriel Trade Centre. Location matters though.

Imperial characters make bit more gold then any other race, take Imperial character to Imperial dungeon and loot them all. Steel Tornado works great on mobs.

u prolly just didnt know when to stop, when i started the game i was 3 weeks in vulkel guard stealing stuff from npcs and the small silver treasure chests and it was fun until it wasnt and then i stopped xD

generally there is no "wrong way" to play the game, it can b a sandbox game if u want it to b, next time just see the signs when fun becomes grind and look for sth else to do

I heard doing master writs I'd great for Gold, but I haven't done any master writs, I only have level 50 in woodworking, are they that valuable?
Yes and No.
"doing Master Writs" means you sell what you make for a certain number of "Writ Vouchers". Writ vouchers can be used to purchase specialty items, like the Ebony Motif. The EBony Motif sells for a lot of Gold in the Guild Stores. That is how to make moeny from Master Writs.

However, getting Master Writs is a random drop from doing your "Daily Writs", and it is a very rare drop. ANd when you do finally get a Master Writ as a random drop, it is usually worth about 4-8 Writ vouchers AND is some semi-rare motif that may cost 10k. And it will take 125 Writ Vouchers (or is it 250?) to get that Ebony Motif...

So, folks Love to claim they make money doing Daily Writs, but that's because they have some source of Materials that they consider Free.

Spend an hour, each day, either theiving or gathering raw materials to sell in guild bank, and you will earn 50-100k per week

i have many thousand resources wood/ore etc and i think people also take into account when they say "make money with daylie writs" the random gold resource mat drops and if u do it on more then one char then yeah u can make some coin with it, but thats also to tedious for me, i hv only 1 master crafter and only he does daylie writs, i did it some time to log through multiple chars to do writs but its to much effort even with dulgbens lazy writ addon...
Yes, i understand and agree that doing Daily Writs is lucrative when you have 1000s of resources at your disposal. Most Daily Writ doers i speak with spend a day per week restocking, by farming or buying raw mats, and refining. There is definitely money to be made - i usualy pause writs for a week or so until i find the time to restock (i have about 12-15 surveys stored up).

But, for the Novice player, to whom 2000g per day is alot, i prefer to keep it simple. Many of the folks that ask these questions arent even in a guild yet, never mind 5 (with all slots filled) - so their needs are very different.

Making 50-100k per week is doable by anyone, in a short amount of time each day (theiving and raw mat farming). That's enough money to do just about anything in the game.

However, it is true that if you want to get filthy, disgusting rich, then yes, Daily Writs and knowing All motifs, and having access to All Set crafting Tables is the way to go. Someone estimated this at 1-2 million gold per month.
