Enchantments scaling
I find it weird that I make an enchantment with my lvl 8 character, and the enchantment reads something like 1000 physical damage. I then enchant a weapon and give it to my lvl 33 character and now the enchantment reads something like 400 damage.... Why? Does it have anything to do with the higher level character lack of enchanting ability? I just don't get it.

items lose effectivity when u outlevel them, a weapon lvl 10 give a charcater with lvl 10 good dmg but the same weapon gives very low dmg to a lvl 20 char, u should find a new eapon every 5 level and new armor every 10 level, in pvp armor every 5 lvl too

the same apüplys to weapon enchantments and potions and buff food

And this will continue until you reach Champion point level 160. Until then, everything you use, will become obsolete after couple levels. So get to grinding levels fast and use experience boosting equipment, and experience scrolls if you have any. You have to do this with only one character, because your other characters will jump from level 50 to your cp level. It's account wide.

Yeah when you start a new toon and apply the CP then you get a level 1 toon that can cakewalk through stuff that kills a regular level 1.......

thats only goodf for twinking, new players shouldnt rush through the game, there will b enough grinding once he is in endgame content, as new player just enjoy the ride, the gear u find from mobs should b sufficient for what u do, if u need help ask in zone or guild

It sux though that a low level character is useless in its role as an enchanter. So, I can have a level 8 guy with a weapon that deals 2000 damage or more, but put the same enchantment on a level 33 weapon and give it to my level 33 guy and it does half. Seems kind of broken.
I don't expect a level 8 guy crafting amazing gold glyphs, but they should not lose 1/2 the value of enchantment just because a higher level guy is now using it. If I make a sword that does 2000 damage it should do that damage no matter who wields it.

read it very carefully and understand that a lvl 8 char can b a master enchanter (if he collects skyshards for all skillpoints needed) but a lvl 8 enchantment will only be good dmg for a lvl 8 char and not a lvl 33 char, he needs a lvl 30 enchantment

This is because you don't understand how eso scaling works.

There is no damage value, there is no armor, there is nothing. Equipment doesn't have specific stats. What determines the stats you get is the difference in level between you and the equipment level.

If your level matches the level of the item, you have the full value of the item. Then for every 2 levels difference (or 10 champion level if you're lv50), you lose power. For enhancements (like glyphs, food, drinks or potions and poisons), it's always about 10 levels (the value is specified on the item).

To give you a simple example, pick a white rarity one handed sword. If you and the sword are of the same level, the sword does 1037 damage (that's the real number). Your level doesn't matter, the level of the sword doesn't matter. Only the difference. If you're lv 1 and the sword is lv 1 you get 1037. If the sword is lv 50 and you are lv 50, the sword is 1037 all the same.
Now if the difference becomes 2 levels between them, then it's 1025. At 4 level difference it's 1013, at 6 it's 989. if you are cp 160 and equip a lv 1 sword, then you get 156.

The table is fixed and every item has its table.

If you want to make glyphs with your lv 8 char that can be useful for max level players, you need a 50 in enchanting, pick the crafting passive in that skill line, and then you craft a glyph for that particular level.

Ok, thank you for the explanation. I thought the stats were fixed, so it seemed like a bug.
