But aye, the Aldmeri Dominion is definitely the strongest, sturdiest, Alliance there is. Having the largest navy, means they can easily bring ships up the river leading into Cyrodiil and resupply along that, as well as at Bravil, they have the entire military of the Khajiit, Bosmer, and Altmer, where as the Daggerfall Covenant has mostly Redguards and Orcs, since the Bretons were really built around trade, not warfare, the Nords and Dunmers probably bring the most to the table when you look at the Ebonheart Pact, but undeniably the Aldmeri Dominion would be. Lorewise, the strongest alliance.
it goes like this:
1-aldmeri dominion
2-daggerfal covenant
3-ebonheart pact(here is your underdog.again in terms of lore)
I did the same myself. I am not really into PvP, but who knows? Perhaps I may try it in ESO one day and I would prefer to play wioth my guildies rather than against them. Apart from my first two Khajiit characters, created before I joined the guild, all the others are EP. I even bought the Adventurer Pack then, to be able to create my characters as EP, regardless of their race.
You cant change the alliance of a character after creation, it is definitve
So, if you have firends or whatever in an alliance, it is perhaps better to roll a character in same alliance
Otherwise, it doesnt really matter
Play the race you want and go with the alliance coming with it
Right race for the build you are playing is more important than alliance
DC -imperial, traders, royalist
EB - criminals, oportunists
AD - religion fanatics, cruel
By current campaign:
DC is clear winner and hich has striked on EB which is in retreat, followed by AD which is just defending their positions. Altough things might change in the next campaign. I'm on DC side because I like their point of view on many things. Plus they have cool looking armors ;-)
Most of the problems faced by each side are self-created. But each side also has figures that offer hope. These characters view the journey just as relevant as the destination. Of course, you might want to pickpocket some rubes and stab some busybodies along the way to work towards that manor house you have your eye on, but I keep the assassination and thief mindset to the side whenever I am doing normal questing.
I would put forward another way to make your decision. Each zone has a specific feel. In the case of the EP, we see ice for Eastmarch, woods for The Rift, fire for Vvardenfell and Stonefalls, etc... You get the general picture. Think about where you'd like to do most of your adventuring and go from there. You'll probably quest in all zones eventually but there are some zones that are a lot more appealing aesthetically.
DC is the most corrupt (IMO), and least populated due to unpopular char. they need help, so join them. (kinda funny when you see that almost every one is basically daedric worshipper in glenumbra to the point that bad guy populate most of the region LOL)
while dominion is..... idk never play it LOL. n'wah
