How many hours is the main questline? (like before I buy)

You get a new main quest every 5 levels, so quite some time.

That was changed a while ago, the level requirements were removed. Whenever you leave the Harborage, the prophet will wait on the way to the town and give you the next quest right away. You can go through the entire questline as a low-leve character.

The main questline is relatively short. But there are _tons_ of quests in the game - probably about 2000 by now. There are long story arcs that lead you through the 3 alliances (one questline per alliance), almost every location has its own quest on top of that, many have side quests in addition to that, and so on. The "main quest" is actually more of a side show.

If you do the main quests back to back it would take a couple of hours to reach coldharbour. I don't know how much of coldharbour needs to be done to progress the main quest.

About coldharbour it depends on if you know where to go, because the quest is about resolving others that are not indicated by the npc, so if you don't know the area you'll have to do all quests blindly till you get to the one starting the right chain. Also if you want the achievements you'll have to do all quests anyway so it can triple the time.

Assuming you're aware of the area and are speeding, it can be done in less than 3h, maybe less than 2h.
