'Data Usage' high on ESO and Comcast/Xfinity starting to CHARGE $$$$
Found out by accident today that Comcast/Xfinity with their Internet unless you pay extra $50 for 'umlimited cap' is charging 'data usage'! Remember they advertised you had unlimited data and 'why' to choose them over others? Well, $10 for overages and $25 for more overages unless you pay $$50.00$$ to unlimited. For that reason I am turning my box back to Xfinity. Too many broken promises, backdoor money grabs, and thousands in their pockets with untrtuthfulness. I'll have to live with AT&T who is good but doesn't have fiber in my area. SO BE WARNED! You're thoughts?

I was wondering why my data went so high when I started playing eso again. Why is this?

You can limit your upload/download rate to specific apps using your firewall settings...Or dumb it all down with Netlimiter. You shouldn't need less than 200 latency to run this game since it is an mmo and not an fps. Basically, 1mbs for smooth gameplay...

I feel bad for a great software company like Bethesda who is releasing Fallout 76 in lieu of this! I contacted marketing and let them know what I discovered today by accident so perhaps they will find a data usage limiting solution to ESO and Fallout 76?

I sincerely doubt this game uses so much data that Comcast would NEED to charge for it; they just want to because it's Comcast.

Verizon Fios customers will probably experience the same thing.

But hey, you all remember when Net Neutrality died, right? This is the result of that: data plans on internet connections, just like cellular plans. This is why the internet was freaking out over it.

Thank the gods a competitor moved into my area and offered fiber, otherwise I'd still be stuck with a cable company. Good riddance to those crooks... never again if I can help it.
