error 1005 help!

1. tried re-installing no avail
2. tried clean cache. no avail.
3. checked firewall and nothing is blocking it.
4. tried repair nothing works

nothing i can do until next major patch. oh well. (windows 10 i am playing)

Error 1005 seems to be when the launcher is denied access to files it needs...according to Google

So, admin log on PC with everything ESO related granted admin rights
Antivirus could also be the problem, either disable (bad) or make exception rules for ESO stuff

how do i make exceptions for eso stuff?

Depends on your antivirus

For windows defender, you add stuff to ignore to the exclusion list
Launcher and ESO executables...Steam too while you are at it
Probably a good idea to exclude the ESO related folder in documents too

If you use another AV, it shouldnt be too different

Before doing all that, you can just disable the AV for a while and check if ESO is working
Just to validate or not if AV is the issue

i checked my McAffe firewall settings and both of those execuables inc steam are allowed. like before few weeks after i get denied it works so it could be down to ESO problem.

Antivirus and firewall arent the same thing

Firewall stops or allows communication between internet and the PC
Antivirus checks your PC and can stop a process or access to a file if it flags it as dangerous

Both can prevent a game from working, but not in the same way and not for the same reasons

on my window 7 pc everything is fine on updating. its just windows issue. same antivirus as my windows 10 laptop
