new to ESO, help?

I have only recently joined the PC gaming community (as in yesterday I finally got a gaming PC) and why the hell won't it download? I left it downloading overnight thinking i'd be able to play this morning but it says I'm 22% downloaded and have FIVE more days until play. WTF? This is not a good way to be introduced to the gaming community. I'm really just wondering if I'm doing something incredibly wrong or if it's like this for everyone.

The total download is 120+GB
If it says 5 more days are you useing dial up internet?
It took me 1 day an a half to download game an i have very high speed internet

The problem is the stream version of the game is WAY out dated. That is why its taking so long to download.

Steam download is quite massive
Around 80 GB

5 days seems quite long (it took 12 hours for me...) but it is just a guestimate based on current donwloading speed
Be sure there isnt anything using the internet at the same time, or keep it minimal...

It is easy to check if you are still downloading, even slowly (good...) or if it is frozen (bad...)


Beware...

After the Steam part is done, you are NOT AT ALL ready to play
Launcher wil have to download another 50 or so Gb
And launcher is capricious...

The download might have been automaticly paused if your computer went into sleep mode, also download speed might be capped by default.

It took me over 2 days to download the Steam version, and that was before Summerset.

I legit needed to ♥♥♥♥♥ on a forum for it to work. Or at least show me some progress. I now can see ESO and not just bars moving in crazy slow motion.
