How to kill tanks in BG,s?(or,how to tear down a wall, using a plastic spoon?)
I played around 5-6 bg,s today, trying to get the daily reward.
But my team never won even 1 game(no,i was not always the one with the least ammount of points, and yes,i stick to objectives).
In nearly every game, there was at least 1 tank who gave us trouble, and with,,us''i mean my team, and the other team aswell.
Had to do multiple rounds of chaosball and there he was....,,that''guy(not the same person all the time, but you get the idea....).
He gets his hands on the ball, and after that its pretty much gg.
At least 3 people have been hunting him, each of them blasting him down with all they got,but he just continues to run and heal, everytime he got down to around 20%hp,he had nearly full hp again,a few seconds later.

Other team joins the hunt....he still doesnt die.
So both teams arrive at the spawn point of his team, where he just stands at the same place and heals himself, sometimes blocking aswell.

And thats how the game ended.
When he finally died, most of us have been dead already,so a team mate of his picks it up,who is either a tank aswell,or just carries it long enough to give it back to the other guy, before he dies.

I tried to slow his health regeneration by 30% with my bow, tried to just focus on doing as much damage as i can, even if it means i die aswell, used food and potions but this guy is simply too stubborn to die.
How do you kill those people?
In a deathmatch, you dont really need to kill those guys, granted.
But chaosball,for example?
Also,if 3+ people cant kill him,how do you kill him in a duel?

PS:They tend to have 700 or more cp,but cp are deactivated in bg,s so.....why can they tank so much and what do you do against it?
Does a difference of 100-200cp suddenly make you take double as many hits for some reason?

What foul magic is this!

Gear, atributes, skillpoints & proper rotation of abilities.
Gear:Good, not all my items are golden yet,but they arent bad either and i already got my sets...and i guess the gear of the other people wasnt too bad aswell.

Attributes:I put everything on stamina to deal as much damage as possible, still wasnt enough to kill him.

Skillpoints:Fine, you got me there, but i already had nearly all skills i need, and maxed aswell.
The only ones missing, are skills for more health/stamina,or skills i dont really need that much at the moment.Skills i need to do more damage, like the dawnbringer are already maxed(and even that skill didnt bother him one bit,it seems, despite me hitting him right in the face......or lets say, backhead, with it.)

Proper rotation of abbilities:I think its save to assume that the other people are not braindead and know how to press 1,2,3,4,5 at least.
Judging by their points,cp and how they fight,id say they are not newbies who dont know how to fight.
I find it hard to believe that pressing some number keys in a different manner than 3-4 other people, makes you survive that long,i mean,i know how to use my skills and do damage.
Besides,i have yet to witness the opposite:A damage dealer who is capable of taking out one of those people in a bg all by himself.
Are all of those people with nice gear, attributes, skillpoints and proper rotation of abbilities, tanks?
I think not,so there should have been at least 1 guy on my team,or the other team, who was capable of taking him out,but that wasnt the case.

Seriously though....where is the fun in chasing down a guy who isnt even fighting you and just running away?
To me that just doesnt sound balanced at all,if it needs a army to kill 1 guy who doesnt even fight.

Would apreciate a answer of someone who manages to kill those tanks in bg,s,and who can offer some tips on how to break their turtle shell.

Stuff like this.
How is this possible?
Didnt even see him do anything fancy, but i had basically the same experience like those guys, just in a BG,not in the alliance war....

u will learn in time, there r some classes that excell in tanking like dragon knights or wardens, personally i hate dragonknights the most cause they have 1 skill that makes ranged classes useless: wings! so frustrating to play against, they spam wings and u cant attack them until they gapclose and point and click root u to whip u to death :D wardens are generally hard to kill and if they have the luxury of beeing queued with a healer or have a premdae healer then its impossible
I got over 500 hours of playtime by now.
I know, its not that much, compared to the pro,s but im really trying hard, yet i dont get closer to killing those tanks.
So i hope i will indeed,,learn in time'' :(

here is what i am talking abt, DK's with wings is the most tilting cancer a ranged player can encounter in pvp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcW9s5astlY&t=1s

in the end he beat him but the agony he had to endure......... #remove wings

Just save yourself the aggravation and do not play that game mode (Chaos ball), play other modes where they cant just get the relic or whatever and just sit there holding onto it with a tank the whole match. Play domination or crazy king since those modes have multiple flags that you can capture and they cant just sit on it the whole match.

To kill a tank ( i am tank , cap myself) you need spriggan + crow set ( have 1,5 k penetratiomn ) + krag - all total will give you a lots of penetration . A then - youll have chance . Or- become a WW - good PvP kill - mashine.

crow set = the clockwork city set? but then he has 0 sustain and gets rekt

Love it =), dk tank here and yes it alot of fun win chaosball all the time ;), unbeatable not so much though if people know how to play atleast, ever tried interupt people? How was teamplay from your side? Yes we pick up easy and dont die easy but wenn 8 players are hunting me
its usual 8 people who got no clue. Armor pen is a good tip or try crit me till you fingersbleed but find alcast guide as i didnt invent that wheel ;)
Will check out the sets mentioned.

@Playing different modes:I wanted the daily reward for choosing the game mode randomly,so....bad luck with chaosball multiple times.

Im a stamplar.....2H+bow,yet wings do bother me aswell, since im using binding javelin and it often backfires and i get knocked down.
Sure,i could switch to my 2H knockdown, but the javelin proved to be very useful in certain situations, like knocking players off bridges from afar or support someone who was being attacked,or when im chasing someone....against DK,s its kinda useless though.
But the last tank i encountered in a chaosball mode, and who gave me the most trouble, wasnt a DK from what i saw.

I know how to interrupt, and if there is a opportunity to do it(whitch didnt happen too often),i did it.
Especially when he reached his teams spawn point you got to be extra careful because you cant just focus on the tank there or his team will blast you down from all directions,or you simply run into the other team who didnt even intend to attack you.

Teamplay.....as much teamplay as you can expect from a random-bg group.
At least they paid attention to the objective.

I dont have a lot of armor penetration at the moment, went after weapon damage so it scales with momentum and pots+i heard that armor penetration will be useless against mages with shields(they give me a hard time aswell, but at least i dont need over 3 people to kill one, like its the case with tanks atm).

i have around 2k hours in game, fully geared and running most ladders in battlegrounds and its still normal to find yourself in a situation where you cant mow someone either because its the lack of support of team mates in case of a tank, sometimes i do a misplay, movement etc..

so its all about practice and timing, support and that kind of things. its not mostly about gear because you can be pretty good in BG even with mid range gear, but its important to know your rotation of skills and how to approach different situations in BG. just keep playing and you'll get there in no time :)
Thanks, needed that...bg,s can be very frustrating sometimes.
I tried to find someone to teach me for a while, preferable a stamplar, like me.
The games discord server was kinda useful sometimes(especially when i was still running my crappy heavy armor/life drain build because i didnt know it better yet).
But a sparring could be useful too i guess.

I genuinely detest the PvP in this game. That's fine, others like it.
Admittedly I'm still levelling so maybe it improves with gear and levels.

I go there for my daily reward and that's it. 15 mins "wasted" of my life for shiny rewards.
No biggie.
From what i experienced so far,its the other way around. Its more fun at first, and less, when you encounter the veterans with perfect gear and much more experience than you have.Low lvl,s and newbies also tend to simply not try so hard and just play some pvp for the fun of it.

The gap between new people and pros is very high though, its all about builds later.
Personally,i dont see the fun in experimenting with builds so much, either to make one for myself,or to counter others,id rather just use the skills that suit my playstyle and focus on combat itself....but builds are very important in eso so theres no way around it,if you want to enjoy pvp(my first build just included skills i liked to use,not the one i needed....and i died very often in pvp).

I love pvp in mmo,s....and i like eso,so thats why im trying to deal with the builds, the immortal tanks and the shield-using-spell-slinging-flamethrowers with legs.
Like kolegator said....just keep playing, maybe it gets more entertaining later.

I'm not even a tank and I can do this. I guess it's just how you build and your slotted skills.

I am a healer that can do dps also.
