compass symbols.
you have the white triangles which are active quest people, the black ones which are available quests.

but now suddenly i have blue ones? what are those?

yeah i just started.. :)

Blue markers show a repeatable quest, like the daily crafting writs

i've looked up icons on the wiki but half of them are not even on it.
