You have to buy the game first then you can play it. There is an optional monthly fee if you want ESO plus which is a special privilage pass so to say. But other then that only thing you really need to pay for is the game it's self. Not sure why you would want to play it though since the people who update ESO have made some dumb changes like making us have to pay gold if we want to dye our armor which is brand new, we did not always have to do this and hopefully it causes enough of an uproar with it's users for ESO to realized it was stupid of them to do that change...

I'm gonna advise you to actually splurge and subscribe to ESO Plus Curmudgeon. The game is so much better with it. And I feel it's worth it for the unlimited crafting bag alone.

ESO+ is very addictive because of CraftBag and x2 bank space.
And its buy2play, not free2play (you have to purchase game to get access).

Thanks for the google.com I'd never thought of using that. Guess forums aren't really for asking players for help and info, my bad.

Here's an interesting point. I started at www.google.com and ended up here.

You can dye your armor for free tho, stop spreading misinformation.
