use flame, ice or shock enchantment on a staff with the same element?
Need a litle help on what enchantment to use on a destruction staff.
If I have a flame staff is it best to use flame damage enchantment on it or does it not matter if i use ice or shock enchantment?
Some skills make flame staff do more damage so I think having a flame staff with a flame damage enchantment will do more damage. (more flame the better it is)

When is it best to have Disease. poison, magic, absorb or oblivion damage enchantment on staff?

I will bee very happy if some one explained it to me. Thanks

One more question.
There is a Glyph of weapon damage enchantment that "Increase your Weapon Damage and Spell Dammage by 305 for 5 seconds" .
But do I need to shoot a enemy first to start the enchantment or will it start when i use a spell on a enemy, or will it start random for 5 sec in a fight?
After the first 5 sec. will it be activ for 5 sec more or is it only 5 sec in one fight?

Againe thanks if some one can help
Enchantments that buff or debuff happen about every 10 seconds and proc when using an auto attack (heavy or light) or a WEAPON skill that deals damage (it wont proc from class skills).

So to give an example, from the first auto attack of any fight, your Weapon Damage glyph will proc and provide increased weapon and spell damage for 5 seconds. At this point the buff will benefit both auto-attacks, weapon skills, and class skills. There will be about 5 more seconds after the buff expires before you can auto-attack to proc the enchantment again, for a total cycle of 10 seconds.

Enchantments that deal damage (fire, poison, absorb magicka, ect) happen about every 4-5 seconds on auto attacks and the proc can critically hit. Elemental damages from enchantments have the potential to also proc special conditions (fire can cause burning, frost can cause chill, shock causes cuncussion, ect.) and their chance of doing so is about 20-30% of causing these additional effects.

To answer your original question I would suggest either flame or shock to magimize damage. Flame will have the chance of proccing burning which is a simple DoT. Shock can proc cuncussion, which is a debuff on your target and will make them more vulnerable to all sources of damage for a few seconds.

Generally, you also do not want to use the same glyph on all of your weapons because they will share the same cooldown. So lets say you slot a staff for your first bar, and a bow for your second bar, and both have the flame glyph. Once you proc the fire damage enchantment on your staff, you wont be able to swap weapons and proc it on your bow until the initial proc from the staff has expired.
Hey. Thanks. There was a lot that now makes more sense to me. Took a long time beforeI finally understod what proc is. And auto attack is light and heavy attack and some skill that damage?
And proc will not happen if I only attack useing skill in my class skill? (no weapon or other class skills)

But when i use a staff and get proc I can then use spells in my class skills doing 305 extra spell damage for 5 sec.

Is there some way to reduce this cooldown making it proc more often?

Really thanks for the answare, So confussing with all this info about everything.

I played to lv 30 thinking that the enchantment "increase armor enchantment effect by X%" only made my armor stronger.
Is there some way to see on the player or hear a sound when ever the effect starts?
Go to settings/combat and there should be an option to turn buffs/debuffs on. You can keep track of the buff when you activate the weapon damage enchant, timers appear on top of your skill bar. Increase weapon damage is one of the best enchants btw, good choice.

There are weapon traits. A weapon with the "Infused" trait will reduce the proc cooldown of enchants by 50% so you can proc enchants every 5 seconds instead of 10. Which means you can keep that spell damage boost active almost all the time, it's a great combo.

Sorry for the long delay.
Here is the trait that Mr. Brownstone mentioned:

And I totally understand where you are coming from. There are a whole bunch of "hidden" numbers in this game. I really wish the tooltips would just tell us this information, but most of it has been up to the community to run tests to figure it out.

You can go here for a lot of in-depth info, it certainly helped me:

Thanks for the tips, I dont know why I never look for the Buff settings before since I have read about buff and debuff before, never link them togheter. much better

I never used "Infused" trait before, I always though it was a weak and useless compare to other traits. But thats because I really didnt understand it.
Now i have a Restoration Staff with "Infused" trait and a enchantmet that Increase Weapon Damage and Spell Dammage. I also use increase armor enchantment effect now that i know more on combos and how to get the most out of them.
Thanks

Wow. Thanks a billion.
Feels like I need to learn everything all over againe, there are some details i never heard about
or thought about. Sometimes I need to read some section 2 3 times just to understand it.
Most of the tooltips info in the game is a joke. When i reached lv 10 I tryed to find out how join a Campaigne in Cyrodiil. Learning how to start a Campaine... I still dont know how to get to Cyrodill. I did find a guide on it but never tryed againe.

But this guide first

Just learn about Hakeijo "Glyph of Prismatic Defense" and where to find it.

Thanks againe
