Dark brotherhood
Just pick up yhe Dark Brotherhood quest and need to go to anvil to kill an innocent
Probably being a bit thick but does this mean i have the Darkbrotherhood DLC or is it a case of giving you the quest to entice you to get the DLC?
Only asking as finding Anvil seems to be leading me round in circles
Cheers

I skipped the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild DLCs, for obvious reasons.. But, I have them and have the Gold Coast and Hew's Bane areas on my map. I just do the daily quests on them. Anvil is in the Gold Coast by the way, it's the Gold Coast that you should be looking for in your map.

You can't get the quest without the DLC. You can see all DLCs you own in the collection menu, stories tab. The better question is how can you not know what DLC you bought for the game ?

The main quests give you 14 skill points (8 for brotherhood, 6 for thieves guild), that alone is justification for doing them if you have the DLCs. (all other zones only give you 3)

Well, I found that the skill points that I have or can still gain by finding skyshards that are found throughout the game is more than enough for me.

Bought the game via Steam and only have what came with that purchase. Haven't added any DLC's myself so I guess it came with original purchase

If you are an eso+ member, you get access to the DLCs. Are you a subscriber?

Original purchase came with Morrowind DLC if that makes any difference

When did you buy the game ? Maybe that was in the eso+ free weekend so you could enter the DLC freely but sicne you didn't finish the quest in the event it's still at that point and you can't progress anymore since you don't have the DLC.

This must be it. A Free weekend activates Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood. You also got the pets if you travelled to those zones. You can delete that quest if it is taking up space in your quest log. It will pop up again if you ever do get the DLCs.

DB is one of the most disappointing quest lines I ever tried in a TES game. Supposed to be a Stealth guild, and...lots of forced combat, and enormous group boss fights...utterly terribly designed.

Shame, cause I wanted to like it, but it needs a complete redesign.

Mass murder and theft from corpses is okay but assassination and theft from the living not okay. Okay Okay ;) I see someone is getting their morality from the TV.
