Race - Role - Class
Hello. I am a fan of TES but I have never played mmo rpg before, hence I am a bit unsure of my steps. I have a plan on creating 10 different characters, within all 10 races (don't ask me why) for both PVE and PVP although diving deeper into game mechanics I started to look for information about class cpecific roles for each race. I know that basically any class can play any role just fine, but I want to get the perfect combination for the best synergies between class abilities and character passives.

So far I got this:

Breton - Healer - mNB
Orc - sDPS - DK (PVP)
Redguard - sDPS - ?
Altmer - mDPS - mSorc
Bosmer - sDPS - Warden
Khajiit - sDPS - sNB
Imperial - sTank - ?
Argonian - Healer/Tank - Templar
Dunmer - mDPS - DK
Nord - sTank - ?

I would be glad if some experienced players leave their comments on that. Thank you!

You are going to have to spend a few extra moneys on crowns to get more character slots. You only have 8 to start with so its going to cost you 3000 crowns.

If you are going to do all races I suggest doing 2 builds for each Class. Divide them for PVP and PVE. PVP I suggest must get the race that gives the most boosts from selected race for min maxing in PVP on selected class. PVE content not really that much important IMO, there you can go any race any class.

On PVE you going to miss out like 10% damage which can be between 3K-5K damage on a full rotation which you really do not miss much on because on PVE Group Dungeons or Trials your rotations get interrupted most of the time with dodging or doing something else because of dungeon machanics.

Also if you are starting to play now only to reach max CP and to get the best builds, you are basically going to have to grind levels for a year before you see your build's full potential.

There is no need to create so much characters. You are going to get overwhelmed.

I have only 4 characters but they cover every role and almost every class (except Templar).

Altmer is the best for magicka Sorcerer DD.
Bosmer is the best used for PvP ganking as stamina Nightblade DD.
Khajiit is the best for stamina Nightblade DD.

Breton is the best for magicka Templar or Warden if you want a healer.
Redguard is the best for stamina DD. Class is irrelevant but Nightblade has the highest DPS but are hardest to play.
Orc is great fro stamina DD in PvP. Class - Nightblade?

Nord is the best for stamina DK or Warden tank.
Dunmer is the best for magicka DK.
Argonian is the best as healer and tank especially in PvP.

Imperial is the best for stamina tank (DK or Warden).

Thank you for in-depth replies!

The reason I want to have 10 races is ability to play, switching between all of them, from time to time, to keep me intrested, to have a variety of appearances, passives.

I understand that having 3-4 characters can cover all your needs, but I am min-max player, in other games at least, therefore I want to experience as much as possible. Ultimatelly I am planning to have 2-3 characters pvp only, and the rest 8-7 of them for pve; all proposing different roles, playstyles, approaches.

Going to take you easily 1k+ hours of playing just to max that many of characters. Like ExiaRS said, you might burn yourself out of the game. What I will suggest is selecting the class you find the most appealing and maxing it first. Takes like 50+ hours to max your first character to level 50. After that you can start paying in game gold to powerlevelers if you do not want to go trough the same long leveling process. Basically 6-10 hours a character to level 50 after that with powerlevelers. Then comes the CP levels. If you play to use up only your dialy Enlightment you looking a year just to reach max CP.

That was my idea in the first place - after balancing out ”race-role-class” table to choose one that desirable the most and make it my main character, for maxing all crafting lines, play the most time with it, etc. The rest would be just for variety, pvp, certain events and mostly powerlevelled, hope so at least.

I thought the same when I first started, but I'm telling you if you don't have a lot of time to play, it's gonna take you a very long time to get all those characters maxed out, with fighters and mages guild, pjisic order, undaunted, alchemy for medicinal use passive, dark brotherhood and thieves guild (if you want), leveling up your mount, pvp skill lines for skills like vigor and caltrops, war horn, guard, farming skyshards to get skill points, getting good gear with all of them. I currently have 8 characters, 5 of them maxed out, and it's hard for me to keep up with all of them. Not saying you can't do it, just telling you what to expect. It's not like the others tes.
You are going to get bored of re-doinf quests, I have a Magicka DPS sirc Breton and a Redguard Dragonknight stamina DPS, both made for PvE and im having fun, if your a new player make a character and choose a class that seems intersting, then play it, you can always reset skill points, Champion points and Stamina/magicka/health points, so just play to learn
You are going to have alot of FUN in ESO. TIP: Take one Toon up tp level 50 cp 750 as fast as you can. After that your cp grind is DONE, it only happens once per account. 2nd Toon spawns into game at level 3, but can apply all 750 cp to that level 3 toon right away or wait until he/she turns level 50 - then apply, like i do.
Thank you all for comments and advices, much appreciated!
My Imperial is a DragonKnight but she seems weak :steamsad: Pretty ...but weak lol
Meanwhile my thieves, wardens, and templars have all the fun and do way better at the same quests.
I figure one needs to know how to 'suitup' for a DK as well as how to invest in the strongest, sturdiest skills and weapons.
She is my highest level character but I am starting to think I'll just pass her by with some of my other characters.
Or should I change her? :Imperial:

You should know that the info in this thread is 2 years old and outdated. There was a big racial balance pass last year.
