What am I supposed to do with a Dye Stamp?

I got a "Dye Stamp" as one of the new level rewards. What am I supposed to do with it? It appears that it's only applicable to "costimes" and that I only have access to those if I happen to have a subscription? Surely I must be wrong and Zenimax would never take up a reward "slot" with something I can't use and use the new level rewards as a sleazy means of upselling subscriptions?

Surely they can, as that is exactly what has happened.

If you dont have a sub , then that stamp is not usable for you. :(

This is incorrect. Dye stamps can be used even if you don't have a subscription (this is what they're designed for). They are for use on costumes which can be bought from the Crown Store, as well as those gained in-game (e.g the DB costumes)

To apply, equip your costume then go to your inventory and click on the dye stamp. You'll get a prompt to use the dye. (note: if you don't get the prompt, turn off your add-ons then try again)

It's already been trashed, so I'll just have to remember this if there's a next time. I have no costumes now that I could have used it with, and I'm in a constant struggle for adequate storage right now, so hoarding something so trivial for later wasn't appealing.

I thought DYE stamps were for people whom didn't have ESO+, but could still dye costumes.

just checked and i am correct. DYE stamps are for anyone to buy and use.
