Why does everyone love the Aldmeri Dominion?

Like didn't everyone hate them back in Skyrim since you know the Thalmor are evil and that they belonged to the Aldmeri Dominion. Also aren't the High Elves really racist and upstuck back in Skyrim and ESO as well? I don't get why now everyone is all over the top in loving AD all of a sudden, makes no sense.

That is like saying Germany and her people was utterly cruel when infact it was the NSDAP that made all of the wrong decisions. The Aldmeri Dominon still have the Thalmor in all Elder Scrolls games as the ruling party, but the citizens of the dominion are quite nice with respectable goals for eachother and Tamriel. In Skyrim you just never see regular dominion citizens, only the Thalmor soldiers patroling the region and paint a picture based on them solely. Altmer living in Skyrim are actually quite nice, like the priest in Falkreath. But personally I like the Aldmeri Dominion in Elder Scrolls: Online because I find their leadership and military more organized and professional. Not to mention the beauty of the serene Summerset Isles.

The Aldmeri-Dominon, or any relevant rebellion to the upper power within the series, are powerful because the people are born within that culture which makes them patriotic. So every single 'empire' or rebel successor, does evil things in order to complete their agenda, to stay relevant but eventually gets crippled by internal conflict.

I have characters in all factions, and I can say that AD have the best scenery, and also the best province, which is Auridon.

Auridon is the only province where you are not cc'ed every five seconds, so you can travel the roads and admire the landscape. Maybe this is the reason why the dolmen runs there are so popular.

Aldmeri Dominion in ESO times is 1st one but 2nd one was actually just resurrected 1st one. It was peacefull Empire which was attacked and destroyed by Tiber Septim who commited many war crimes against Khajit, Bosmer and Altmer population. He even used WMD against Almer population when he couldn't conquer Summerset Isle. I forgot that he banned worship of Altmer's gods.

And Thalmor is evil for banning worship of war criminal and mass murderer?

And lets not forget how Empire abandoned every province during Oblivion crisis.

The 1st AD which represented in ESO isn't cruel. It's goal is uniting all tamriel races under wise elven control. But 1st AD didn't want to enslave people etc. Also their leader Queen Ayrenn is very nice and clever and many players like her. However, 2nd and 3rd AD are cruel nazi. So, saying AD is evil all the time like saying Germany is evil all the time

Also he is totally wrong. The Ebonheart Pact was the longest that survived. The Aldmeri Dominion and Daggerfall Covenant both collapsed before the Ebonheart Pact.

Just creating a new alliance / organization and nameing it Aldmeri Dominion, doesnt make it the same thing, especially because it is even a generic name base on the race / nation of the creators. This said, Aldmeri Dominion in Skyrim isnt the same thing as Aldmeri Dominion in ESO and inbetween no Aldmeri Dominion existed.

Also there were 2 Aldmeri Dominions before that of Skyrim and it collapsed both times (one of them was the ESO Aldmeri Dominion).

the thalmor are racist in skyrim, but for rather good reason, it wasn't but 600 years ago that humans (the empire) literally held a nuke to their head and said submit or die

it's entirely reasonable that they don't want talos worshiped, or man to ever rule ♥♥♥♥

they're not "evil" in any sense, they're just the antagonist faction.

welcome to literally every race in tamriel.

the only thing that is free of widespread racism is the legion, and even that has it against some of their members rather extensively (namely the orcs) just to a much..much lesser degree than any individual overarching soceity

as for them being arrogant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, ever seen an orc? or a dunmer? or a nord? what about a redguard?
most races are arrogant and have a stick up their ass

it wasn't all of a sudden, the thalmor and AD in skyrim was fairly well received with numerous petitions to make them joinable in the game

but there are a variety of reasons, their racial combos are extremely strong, they tend to have the best story, for a long time they were dominant in cyrodil which caused the influx problem of players migrating away from their home faction to AD to join the winning side

seriously though, they're not evil

they want mer supremacy, but that's literally no different from imperial politics wanting imperials on the throne, the nords constant view that they want/need a nordic king or the various other races in their general political structure and power games

their most evil action to date was simply the execution of blades (spies) and the banning of a religion and heavy prosecution of those who still followed the individual

the prosecution of talos worship is entirely understandable once you realize what he actually DID to the altmer, and every other race frankly

the empire when it was uniting tamriel was very much a submit or we will kill everyone around you and then execute you for the audacity to stand against us

Tiber Septim wasn't a good dude, at any point in his known life. to see him hailed as a god would RIGHTFULLY piss alot of people off, esp mer who took the brunt of his absolute disdain and hatred due to longstanding beliefs among the nords and imperials

imagine if Germany was hailing hitler as god today, do you think that israel and the jewish population as a whole would take that lightly? or that most would hold resentment and feel entirely justified in going to war with germany, barring this new "god" and prosecuting any who refuse to give up belief?
