Lore library?

Not sure how the lore library works. I have some things in my inventory which have supposedly been added to my library. E.g., a list of Abodes Available for Acquisition. But when I go to my lore library, it's nowhere to be seen. I'm loath to throw it out of inventory without being able to reference it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

If it isn't part of Shalidor's Library then you need to complete the Mages Guild to access all books you've read and will read, through the Eidetic Memory[en.uesp.net].

Thanks! I have a quest for the Mage's Guild and a quest for the Fighter's Guild. Can you be a member of both?

Yes, you can. Also thieves, undaunted... etc
