Endless loading screen on log in

Is anyone getting the same problem? Everything's been working fine until today.
I played just fine last night, but today it updated, and when I launched the game just now it got stuck on the loading screen before character select. No error warnings or anything. Still loading as I'm typing this and it's been about 10 minutes already.
So I'm wondering, does it have something to do with that update and if anyone's experiencing the same problem, or could it be something on my end (I changed absolutely nothing though)?

I've had that before. Just let it run for a while until it loads. After the first loading screen it usually goes back to normal.

Waited for another 10 minutes, closed the game, tried again - same thing, decided to reboot my computer, then launched the game and this time it was fine. Go figure what that was about, huh.

I am having an issue today. I am trying to login to Elsweyr but it keeps loading Somerset. Please any advise out there????

Elsweyr hasn't been released yet. You won't be able to play it until June I think.

I too am having this issue. I sat in the login queue for 20 minutes, and never got in to the game.

Edited to add: And yes, I shut down and rebooted. All told, I tried to get into the game for 44 minutes.

I tried about two hours ago and the launcher repair screen kept coming up. So i did the usual make at least 10 gigs space for for a patch download restart, clean, moved files, etc still nothing. Since repairing files is like downloading a new game i never do it anymore.I logged into steam and a green line was at the top with verify email. After 3 clicks a tiny patch went through on the launcher and i was back into a game i play daily. Worst steam fix for me ever but i'll take it. :)

From the launch screen (before clicking PLAY), try clicking "Game Options" dropdown from the top of the NEWS feed, and select "Check for Updates".

It appears Steam/Zenimax doesn't always automatically download the latest patch, and if you don't have newest patch installed (4.3.11) the login screen will hang indefinitely.

After update reaches 100%, you may have to close the launcher and restart before PLAY will be re-enabled.
