Sure is hard to find Columbine and Mountain Flower...
...the 2 reagents you need to do the alchemy intitiation. :( Is there a list somewhere that tells you where on the map to go to harvest partidular reagents?

If everyone and their sister are out harvesting they must be finding something--so can the rest of us! The reagents must be respawning faster than we think. :) [/quote]

Oh, sure. I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't try right now. You'll still find some, just not as much as you would at other times. I'm just saying that if you expect to keep playing for a while, it's never to early to _also_ start planning for next year.

There is an add on that puts a marker on the map for you when you harvest something so you can go back to those places all the time.

This is the addon, it's great. However, the resources in each location can only be classified by the TYPE of resource (plant, ore, jewelcraft ore, water, etc) not the particular resource (ebonheart thread, copper, etc)

I would highly recommend this addon either way, it's amazing.

Go to the southern dolmen in Auridon. Port to the wayshrine near it. There should be several alchemy nodes around the little lake and some more around the dolmen itself.

There are several alchemy nodes around the central dolmen in Auridon too.

If you need to do the crafting certification quests or daily crafting writs, you may find the little guide below useful. By the way, you don't really need Columbine for the writs, I would save it for crafting tri-stat potions later.

ALCHEMY:

Get as many units of the Natural Water solvent as you can. Each potion will require one unit of solvent, which is Natural Water at the lowest tier. For some writs you may actually need four units, one for the potion and then three more. Just be sure to grab any plant and rip the wings of any butterfly you come accross while you play in any zone.

The reagents I use are simply those I somehow find myself having the most of:

Sip of Stamina (Dragonthorn + Mountain Flower)
Sip of Health (Blue Entoloma + Water Hyacinth / Butterfly Wing)
Sip of Magicka (Bugloss + Lady's Smock)
Sip of Ravage Stamina (Fleshy Larva + Emetic Russula / Imp Stool)

For each writ you will also need three units of one of these:
Blessed Thistle
Corn Flower
Natural Water
Wormwood
Thanks but I am stuck for days on finding a "Sip of Ravage Stamina." Where do you go to find fleshy larva, emetic russula and imp stool? Book says for fleshy larva I need flesh flies and zombies. So if I can just find flesh flies and zombies that may be good enough.

Mushrooms can be found around trees in some of the wetter climated areas, like Deshaan, Shadowfen, Vvardenfell even. You don't need fleshflies and zombies - those are just two easily farmable sources - you just need the larva. Fleshflies are all over the place, especially in areas with zombies or other dead like battlefield type areas. But zombies themselves do also drop the larva. You can always buy these items off of stores too you know. Or ask in zone to buy a small quantity. You may have to pay a lot more than they are generally worth for small batches of mats, but then again you could also get a generous veteran to just give it to you for free.

Thanks, I suppose I will try to find graveyards then. They must be somewhere.

Also, you can find mushrooms in pretty much any zone, its just the wetter climated ones and Morrowind in particular are known for mushrooms and have more trees, where they can reliably be found.

What zone are you looking for the fleshfly larva in?

Right now I am in southern Auridon. So far I have found more reagents here than anywhere else. I think I saw zombies somewhere but I am still looking for them at this time.

hmm, Auridon is probably the zone I know least of all. Im not sure but i dont think there are any graveyards in that area, or battlefields with undead/lots of dead..... Reapers March on the other hands has lots to offer

Glenumbra zone has plenty of zombies.

Still looking for zombies. I searched the Glenumbra zone for zombies but there sure are a dangerous lot of werewolves and vampires there. Any safer places to find flesh flies and zombies so I can make this sip of ravage stamina for my crafting writ?

There is no "safe" place to get the resources from zombies, you will have to fight for them.

Perhaps ask for help? I would recommend joining a good social guild for starters. People in such guilds tend to be helpful.

Judging from the little flag in your profile, you play on the NA server. Unfortunately, I play on the EU server. My options to help you are limited. Try buying some resources from guild traders.

I'm not trying to avoid fighting, I just don't think it would be fun to me to continue the game as a vampire or a werewolf. I have tried to figure out how to find and get into a guild without any success.

I'd be surprised if you became a werewolf or a vampire without wanting it. 99% of the vampires/werewolves NPCs can't infect you, and the remaining 1% is limited to three zones (Bangkorai, Reaper's March and The Rift) with specific spawn points and time.

That will make me a lot braver, thanks. :)
