How tall are the races in ESO?
I have seen the charts comparing them to each other but that really doesn't tell me how tall they are. What i want is to know the actual height, as in feet or any other real world height measurement.

I say this only because i want to make a character my own height but without numbers i can't even tell which races can be that height, only guess and eyeball. So far i am pretty much running on max/min settings or close to it. Do i want to be short or tall for my race, is pretty much the only thing i can decide. So do any of you fine gentlebeings possess the knowledge i seek?

Just a Breton height number would be helpful. Honestly no idea whether max height for a Breton is above or below 6ft. All the giant Elves, Nords and Orcs sure don't help the eyeballing lol. People sure love that max setting. Why this game doesn't just come with numbers on the height slider is beyond me.

Use circle of protection for measurement. The radius of the circle is 5 meters, so You can calculate 1 meter from it and then report it on your char.

My imperial is is medium size on the slider and I'm already past 2 meters, which is very tall already.

Kinda questioning your methods since that would make high elves possibly 8 feet tall given the difference. That would mean all the races can be 6ft. All but Bosmer anyway. If your correct everyone in the game is literally a giant.

Not sure if this is going to help, but a guy on Skyrim Forums somehow estimated the race heights.

I already found that one and its not really applicable given the height variation of ESO and the difference between the games. The numbers are also kinda questionable to begin with.

Yeah but you're trying to compare real measurement with a fictional world. If one meter in the engine is not the same as one meter IRL, it's kind of pointless to try to measure anything.
I mean maybe tamriel is bigger than earth, so medium height there might be giants for us.

Irrelevant. Everything is to scale with each other. That means according to relativity its exactly the same.

If you scale up everything you end up with no actual change relative to the surrounding and units of measurement. It is definitely possible to figure out how many feet they are in the way it matters.

Your comment is one from ignorance. That's not an insult, your comment is just you not understanding or knowing how things work.

I know how things work. You're the one saying you want you char being the same height as you, when the means of measurement are not the same between IRL and the game. Well, stuff in the game is taller than in the real world. So i don't know how tall you are, but I'm pretty sure you're average, so average in eso is about 2m, if you want to be shorter while not looking shorter no one can't do anything for you.

The measurements in the Elder Scrolls world are not larger though.

Also average has nothing to do with anything. I said "my height" which does not mean average, It means the specific number. You do know how to calculate this stuff right? You just take an item of known size and compare it. Nerds on the internet do this stuff all the time. I just wanted to know if anyone had done it already. The answer to that seems to be no.

Your misunderstanding what is going on here. The means of measurement do not change like that. 1ft is still 1ft no matter what they call it. How you measure something does not change the actual height of that thing. The ESO universe does not run on laws that stop such units of measurement from applying.

I mean your not talking about how the average for each race is different right? Because that would be completely irrelevant to the conversation.

Basically if i want a character to be 4ft or 7ft my only options are maxing and minimizing the sliders and hoping its close enough. I don't even know if the sliders go that high or low and thats the problem.

Your best bet is to find an object in the world that you know the size of on Earth and then compare to the size of characters tracking the height scale on the character creation screen. A standing ladder maybe. I believe the rungs are set at standard intervals.

Yeah i know, i said that just above your comment. I was just looking to avoid it since i don't really do this kind of stuff. Usually someone has already done the math on stuff like this, but i guess no one cared enough this time.
