First time playing sorc

So I know most people say dont follow any guides at start and I won't. I just want to know which one of those two I should do later on when I get to the point of doing a guide. My goal is DPS and survivability. So here are the two guides

(Before I say anything, Alcast's pet sorc build is kinda bad, so I'd find an alternative. Also, keep in mind that Zaan/Siroria are good for dummy tests, but not as good for realistic fights).

These builds are very different. Pet sorcs are overall easier to play, but magsorcs can probably parse higher (get more dps).

I recommend pet sorc (no. 2) if you have a sustain/survival issue, but magsorc (no. 1) if you feel confident with your abilities.

Follow Alcast's setup with CP and general build setup, but change a few things around.

1. Zaan is very conditional, and won't work most of the time unless the enemy you're fighting has no mechanic to it. Great for upping dummy DPS, but not always as good in real combat. I recommend Illambris or Maw of the Infernal.

Use the Mother's Sorrow with Necropotence armor set, and the Lightning Maelstrom Staff. Put a shock enchant where Alcast says Flame Enchant (if you're NOT using Illambris).

2. Use the same skills as Alcast, but instead of Bound Aegies use Inner Light.

Instead of Crystal Fragments, use Power Surge (only if you're having trouble surviving).
Instead of the Shooting Star Ultimate, use Elemental Rage.

If you don't have any issues with sustain, use Lightning Flood instead of Liquid Lightning, and Unstable Wall of Elements instead of Elemental Blockade.

My setup is:

Bar1: Power Surge - Unstable Wall of Elements - Pet1 - Lightning Flood - Pet2 (Maelstrom Lightning Staff)

Bar2: Inner Light - Pet1 - Pet2 - Daedric Prey - Hardened Ward (Mother's Sorrow)

If you use this setup with Mother's Sorrow and Necropotence all with divines trait, get the Shadow Mundus Stone.

If you don't have any problem surviving, get the Twilight Tormentor and Volatile Familiar (NOT Clannefear or Matriarch).

3. Rotation should be:

Lightning Flood - LA (light attack) - Unstable Wall - LA - Switch bar - Daedric Prey - LA - Pet1 (Tormentor) - LA - Pet2 (Volatile) - Heavy Attack - Switch bar - LA - reset rotation
