Also I've yet to play any MMO where doing dungeon content with randoms was a good idea. In WoW for example you'd go through 100's of randoms before you lucked into anything remotely resembling a decent group.
Exactly what brenelael said, find a group of people (easier now than ever) to play dungeons with. You'll not only get to do them without waiting for a queue to pop, you'll do them efficiently and fast. Dungeon Finder shouldn't be a thing in MMO's anyways, it only makes players less social as well as uneducated on mechanics in the game. Get rid of LFG I say!
a) 4 spaces per dungeon problem
b) 1 tank 1 heal -> which creates only 2 dps spaces
in a game where you got 10000000 dps, and rather few tanks/heals
funny thing though cause in raids/trials you need all those dps, who the dungeon-finder clearly doesn't need or encourage. best choice is to setup for both dps and either heal or tank. but you need addons, cause the game doesn't offer real skill/loadout systems.
When I play my DPS toon I have to wait over an hour to get a dungeon. So my solution was to build a Tank and play that.
Yesterday when I qued as a tank I didn't even have time to scratch my a$$ before I was loaded in. Most of all I had fun doing it. I thought a tank was just to stand there and get hit but that isn't true.
There are many builds out there where you join the team in attacking the mobs and bosses and while your dps will not be as powerful as the DPS toons its kind of cool to be able to stand there and and say " come on, give me your best shot " and just brush it off.
"Woeler.com" Beginners Guide to Tanking. read it and explore the possibilities.
I very much hope that you will consider this solution as the more tanks ther are the less time we will spend in que as DPS toons.
OR you can become a Healer. :)
the post automatically turned my info for Woeler into a LINK and when I clicked on it the response was that it was blocked. Google Woeler or Alcast. Im puzzled.
1) Play as a tank.
2) Play as a healer.
3) Play as a DPS but enter the queue along side a dedicated tank or healer.
Get that 3rd option out... don't put ideas in people's mind. While it can work (depending on the players) in normal easy dungeons, that stunt is harmful for later DLC normal dungeons and most vet dungeons.
You can somewhat do something with a dps tagging as a healer (you can bring a self heal to adjust and pray you get a good team), but if the tank isn't, some boss fights can get really tedious (the support a tank provides in eso is crucial, tank can pretty much double the efficiency of all other dps in the team), especially if the dps are not that good.
To do dungeons with 4 dps, you need a dps team made for that, that stuff doesn't appear in random parties, that's why we have party formations, becasue if someone tags as a tank, you should be able to trust that the tank is going to do as least basic tank stuff and play accordingly.
This is just what happens when you queue for a normal below level 50.. because most folks aren't doing dungeons to level up, as it is incredibly inefficient to do. And newer players don't want to be bothered by it because they either don't know their class all that well, or just don't want to interact with folks.
Now go hit L50, CP160, and queue for your daily Veteran pledges. 15 minutes tops for DPS, sometimes much sooner than that. (Pretty frequently, to be honest.)
The only potential solution I could think of would be to buff healing classes, or maybe make healing more of a viable alternative to DPS? I don't know, but one thing that WoW did right was make every class feel useful. Healing is useful of course in ESO, but why don't more people want to heal?
Play as a healer & you won't be in queue for more than 4 minutes lol
Because most want to be DPS,but you also need other classes to run these.I agree that it's still not the best system but it gets a lot bad rap for no reason.
Most of the time it's not broken, what is broken is a game were most want to be DPS when you need other classes to run the content.
So do the math....
What is broken is the people running it,because they still want to be DPS but will pretend to say be healer to get in quicker, then you end up dying a lot or not completing the content because your team doesn't have the right classes.
You need to find like minded people to run these or join a guild and so forth.
